I usually stay at Main Street Station downtown, which is the best kept secret in Vegas, imo.
looking online they come out to around $80 more than The Riveria when you include "resort fees".

But, downtown is a fun location. So from a location standpoint yeah, its probably better than the Riveria.

Imo, The Riveria is one of the best kept secrets in Vegas "if" you are looking for a place on the strip to crash. The casino is a dump, absolutely, but the rooms are very nice and were all redone/refurbished a few years ago. Pillow top mattresses, flat screen TVs, desk, nice bathroom, a nice comfy lounge chair, etc.

Don't knock it till you tried it

I'll look into staying at Harrah's if that is where everyone is going to end up...

Bip booked at Harrahs.

sounds like that's the beginnings of a groundswell.

I'll book there once I've confirmed flights and dates

Whatever that means, wanker.

Never had any urge to stay at the Riv. It has the Hiv. Room might be nice, but surroundings suck.

As for Main Street, did you check direct with the Boyd's site? They usually have a Tuesdays free if you stay at least 3 nights deal.

I stayed at harrahs last time I went to lv and was very happy with it. Great location and price.

I'm looking to split a room but not 100% sure how long I will go. Wouldn't mind doing a week. Too early for me to commit ATM tho.

I might go out the weekend before over Memorial Day but won't be in Vegas for confirmed shenanigans.

Also you can get resort fees waived at CET property if you are Platinum or above.

FYI.... IT HAS BEEN DONE - NO TURNING BACK NOW!

Just booked at Harrahs May 30- June 6. G effin G

I have heard that best time to book a domestic US flight is eight weeks beforehand. But if it is a good deal, you may want to go ahead and pull the trigger.

Just planning the debauchery here...
So, the milly is Sat. May 31 and Sun. June 1, right? So the serious debauchery starts on Sunday when you all get knocked out, and later, more so, when I win? Just trying to confirm the timing...

Pretty much.

We all planning to stay at the same place if possible?

Could have booked my flight last night for $180ish roundtrip from Philly through a company discount. Delta, I think it was.

Priceline or Expedia was $233 a few days earlier.

Was planning on staying at Quad, cause I'm cheap and it's where I can get the best discount through Harrah's. But if we're all staying at Harrah's, that's cool, too.

Best time, from what I've been told, is about 8 weeks out, on Tuesday, right around noon.

That's surprising because Quad is priced higher than Harrahs on every site. They must have really improved that place..... Not.

blah blah blah... Everyone is going to hate life if they wait to book it and see that it cost $100 more. We all know how cheap poker players are. $40 to upgrade your room? Hell no, that's expensive. $500 BI in a 1/2 game so we can play deep... Ok!

Are you looking through Harrah's website and Total Rewards? I haven't checked in a month or so. Will check after work tonight.

I'm not staying at any of the places being mentioned. If I stay in a ****hole it will be Rio.

Bip what was the poker rate at the V?

I'm showing $15/night "resort" fee at the Riv, but I see online deals to wave it, making a total of a basic room 30 May-06 Jun of $318.

For Main Street, if I book through Boyd's Gaming with my players card I get $322 including tax, no resort fee, so 4 bucks more.

Harrah's, I'm seeing at $330 before taxes and fees, which sounds great, but when I go to book it, I find that they're charging $18/night, so with taxes that brings it to $510, unless someone knows how to get that ish waived.

Weirdly enough, that's still almost $200 less than the Quad...

After resort "fees" it works out to like $150 on week nights and $180 on weekends... but you have to get 6 hours of play in (considering tournament is offsite and 9 hours+ per day)

Just booked my flight. Getting in at 10pm on Friday night the 30th, leaving that next Saturday night at 10:30pm or something of the sort.

Now to find a place to stay.

Or just stay up for 7 days straight. Either could be good.
