Also, "pot odds" used in this context is, IMO, misapplied and misleading. Yeah if there are four other players we get 4-1, but out equity is also worse so it is not a reason to call. There are lots of other reasons to call but "pot odds" isn't it.
+1

I believe HOC has an example outta the blinds with some junky hand with great "pot odds" and why it is a trivial fold (because of how far behind it actually is against what everyone else most likely has, etc.).

in a game where nobody is folding, hands/hr drop alot because they see too many flops
so probably around 15-20hands/hr
you'll be bored to death trying to wait and hit a monster
but just bear with it for a couple hours then double up
wait another couple hours you'll double up again
that's 4x your stack
lol
patience is the key

i wish my 1/2 game is that soft
here they are super nitty preflop, harder to exploit compare to your game
yet they will pay me off monsters sometime just not as hard
even against alot of nits preflop, i can still be up 3-4 buy-ins a session sometime

so it depends on your patience and luck
alot of the winnings come from folding
folding when you know you are behind saves you alot of money
dont get married to overpairs and overvalue hands

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the third option - 3-betting as a bluff.

UTG+2 won't 4-bet you without KK or AA (sometimes he will even hero fold 10-10 here), it's very likely no one else has anything they will call a $60-$70 raise with, there are only two players to act behind you, neither one of which is showing any strength, and you have a tight image.

I'm not saying do it every time it comes around to you on the button, but doing this once or twice a session is certainly not the worst idea. Obviously, table image and dynamics play a huge part in a play like this, but I promise you there are winning players out there who run preflop bluffs like this.
