Welcome to another edition of butcher a hand with your host, Falconhoof.

Hero (600) TAG image, young, haven't got out of line this short session so far.

V1 (510) late 40's early 50's spazzy foreign guy. Saw him open to 22 out of his bb when a btn straddle (10, we're at ph) was on. 2 callers, checks through 77552 and he bets 25 on river and gets snapped off by ak. Another interesting hand involves him getting 3b by V2, he then leads on QQ2, c/c 10 turn and c/f to a big bet on K river. V2 had A9.

V2 (900) Young ultralag, been straddling a lot from his btn and doing the 'phamous straddle' (20 from anywhere). Saw him raises he btn straddle to 30, bet pot after one caller on J8xcc, bet pot again on 10 turn and shows 62o when guy folded. knows how to value bet aswell, saw him raises his utg straddle to 30 and gets 1 caller. checks through kj102 and then bets 40 on blank river with j9 and wins.

OTTH ;

Unstraddled hand (sigh), hero gets KK and goes 12 utg +1, V1 calls from sb, V2 calls from bb.

Can maybe go bigger here, but didn't want to turn my hand face up by raising to an obscene amount pre.

Flop (35) : Q97dd.

V1 bets 25, V2 calls, I call.

Was deliberating a raise to 120 here, probably should have to get value from Qx and flush draws, but ingame i wanted to let V2 have the opportunity to bluff.

Turn (110) : Kd

V1 now checks, V2 bets 80, I call, V1 raises 200, V2 folds, Hero?

Looks somewhat familiar? I initially called V2 because i think when V1 now checks his most likely is Qx, or possibly 9x, so wasn't too worried about him. I also realised V2 is capable of trying to represent the flush or even the straight. Now I think it's a question of seeing if we have odds to try and hit one of our boat outs. It's obvious V1 has a flush at this point, but I don't think he folds when we hit, in fact I think he just shoves for value anyway.

In game I thought I needed 20% but i suck at pot odds. Is it 120 to win (110 + 80 + 200 + 200 = 590)?

Thoughts on the hand as a whole appreciated.

I think the pre-flop size is fine.

I would raise that flop all day. An overpair isn't all that sunny multi-way on a wet board.

Your odds calculation looks right to me, and your odds of boating up are higher than that, so easy turn call.

The choice comes on the river, when you don't boat up and he shoves, and you have to decide if he is running that bluff at least a quarter of the time.

Flop: Raise it up!

Turn: You're basically correct with our equity needing to be 20%. But it's technically 120 to win 470, so we're getting 4 to 1 on a call and need 20% (1/5) equity. So we should call and hope to hit.

plus implied odds. and yeah its whats in the pot already 200+80+80+110=470. 120 to win 470 + implied odds of boating up plus small chance you are ahead already. Just having to be ready to fold on blank rivers.
