Waiting for the 10-20 nl game and I'm sitting down at 2-5. Just sat down a few hands ago, but I know a few players at the table except the most relevant villain. Villain #1 is a relatively TAG Indian kid, doesn't get out of line too much. Villain #2 is on super crazy monkey tilt after someone had the gall to catch a 12 outer on my first hand at the table, and he's been swearing and throwing in chips every hand since. Villain #3 is the unknown, haven't seen him play a hand. Middle aged caucasian male if it matters. I have 500, everyone else covers

Preflop Villain#1 limps UTG, Villain #2 limps UTG +1 two more limpers, I limp CO with 53, Villain #3 limbs button, SB completes, BB checks

Pot is 40

Flop is A53

Checked to villain #1 who bets 15, Villain #2 raises to $45, hero calls, Villain #3 raises to 170, folded back to hero

I wanted to call the flop because I think there is a very good chance villain #2 is betting/calling practically every turn, and even though there are lots of scare cards, my hand will play well against his range there. Maybe it's a mistake because it lets draws in relatively cheap, not totally sure.

Now what do I do? I don't think this is the type of guy who can 3 bet without the goods, but it is LOLliveaments so who the heck knows. Thoughts?

Hmmm, you have blockers to the 2 sets possible, but this is a limped pot, so you have to give him credit for aces up and less credit towards the possibility of him doing this with a big ace. If he is in line, mind you.

At 2/5, I do not see many people raising FD's, so I am inclined to fold in this spot...but you should have raised McTilterson in order to isolate him, price out draws, and to assert yourself. After all, Villain #3 may be thinking that #2 is FOS and is raising him with the expectation that he will fold and that you are essentially dead money caught in the middle.

Every really confusing spot on this forum seems to arise in a limped pot- just an observation, not saying you should have raised pre... I think you played perfect if you folded to the 170.

Results: I ended up folding, and villain showed me 53o, so we were chopping. I think that hand is at the way bottom of his range, so I think it was a decent fold.

Fold is good.

Most "relatively TAG" players who are actually good at poker to not limp UTG, btw. He is probably playing about 28/7 or 20/4.
