how to play middle pairs? how to play middle pairs?

i've been trying to get better at live games, but have been having a hard time with all the loose passive players. i normally play 1/2 1/3. my question is how would you play middle pairs such as 8's , 9's, t's etc.. from early mid late position. it seems if you try to isolate with a hand you always get 3+ callers, and there is probably going to be overcards on flop. what type of flops are you cbetting. should you just limp in with these hands and try to flop sets.

I would encourage you to use the search feature. I'm fairly sure there are a few hundred threads about this already.
There may able be a a Concept of the Month about it too.
Having said that, there are about 10 different ways to play any hand.
And it always depends. Depends on your stack size. Depends on your table image. Depends on the table dynamics. Depends on your position.
It's not really something that can be summarized in a few sentences. Or even really a few paragraphs.

Mostly limping them especially in EP/MP. I like to keep the pots small OOP. Another good option would be to raise small like 3x just to build a pot for when we flop a set.

to broad of a question to really answer, but I'd just limp in from early and mid position until you understand how to adjust to your opponents and post flop situations better

depends how deep you are id limp any stack less than 100 bb id raise any pair in decent position over 100bb depending on my opponents stacks as well.

Limp, flop set, profit. It's really that easy. Raising these hands is really an advanced play that I wouldn't recommend in general.

This.

Please don play 55-99 aggro. I overlimp all the way to 99. I don't 3 bet anything under 1010+.

I mean obv if its folded to me in middle im opening 99+, but even then, there is just so much epic value in flopping sets man. People don't fold. Let as many in as possible.

A good post is gg's thousand hour post archived in the "best of" section

So say you are on the cutoff and you have 55 and limp, then the button makes it $15 to go, is flating the right thing to do here? I have always raised all my pocket pairs if everyone folded before getting to me to try to isolate and play heads up.

I understand limping if there have been 3 or so callers already and I'm holding a weak pair that's not strong enough to make a big raise to try to iso

all depends on stacks and the players, is it a fish who will always go all in with an overpair if the board isnt too nasty for it? is it a nut who will go all in with draws and the like? or is it a rock who is smart enough to not pay off? also depends on how deep you are and how deep they are, if the raise is 15$ you need to be pretty certain if you hit your set you can win 120$ here or more a lot of the time

So many factors to consider. These threads get locked just about everytime because they are too broad.
