1/2 No limit. You can straddle from anywhere on table but the blinds. Game is playing very loose aggressive and the $5 straddle is on every hand mostly from the player two to my right unless someone else opts to takes their button straddle ahead of him. I have played with this player once before and this is his strategy along with defending his straddle very wide (75-80%) but he plays very well post flop. There is a unicorn fish in this game directly across from me. The kind that doesn't come around too often and will shove 300BB into a 30BB pot at any point and then reload continuously when busting. The type where you want to play as many hands as possible with because your implied odds are so huge. Directly to my left is a player that wants to play pots and opened maybe 4 or 5 times in the first 10 orbits from very early position on the straddlers straddle (7 players behind him) and showed 10h7h after he called a 3 bet and then got it in on a 10 high flop. Every pot is multiway with an opening of $15 getting around 4 player on average and a raise of $20 getting about 3 players.

This straddle from anywhere seems pretty common in what is going to be my home card room so I need to have a macro strategy going into a game like this. What should I be looking to do as an overall macro strategy here? Once I get some feedback I will get into some more specific micro questions. Thoughts...

Play tight premiums and play them aggressively pf. Lots of 3 betting and limp reraising.

Speculate when cheap with hands that can make strong hands. Like pp and suited aces. Don't play too much garbage.

Obv trap more vs the fish.

That’s what I did and I was completely card dead for 5 hours. I guess you just need to make hands in a game like that. Thanks for input.

You're paying a lot of attention to players' PF strategy but don't seem to know much about the postflop dynamics. Are players calling off light? Are they calling c-bets often? Are they folding to double barrels? Are they jamming draws? There's a lot more to pay attention to in these games than simply what people's open ranges look like.

In general in a game like this you want to be going for big value. SPRs are going to be smaller so you need to try to get players committed and then go for the value. You also need to lean on range advantage heavily.

Calling Cbets often. One player moved all in for 300bb into a 30bb (limped with straddles) pot on the flop with A10 on and Ad10d7d board into 4 players. All kinds of action. Not much folding. Playing draws aggressively. So post flop is very loose overall. Aggressive in most cases and passive in others. Tons of action pre and post.

What do you mean specifically here in this dynamic? And how would you apply and exploit this?
