The entire table is all fish (including me because I am really bad at this game). Always 4+ limpers every hand and 2 or 3 usually call a $16 raise every time. I have been playing at this table for about 9 hours.
V raises UTG for $12.
Hero is UTG + 1 with 77 and calls.
V2 calls in MP.
Flop is J75 (Pot: $36)
V bets $12 again.
Hero raises to $40.
V2 folds.
V snap calls.

Wrong forum but.
Preflop: Probably fine.
Flop: He bets $12 into $39 (lol, and btw you forgot to include the blinds in your pot size calc) and you only make it $40? Make it $60-$65 to go.
So a dude opens UTG with 84o, gets there on 2nd set and you're asking if you could get away from it?
Stop being results oriented over losing the hand. Focus on the fact that your flop sizing was bad and that you should be charging him more to hit his miracle cards.
Edit: to clarify, this guy had 84o. So if he can have 84o, can't he have literally ATC? Against his range, you're a clear favorite:
