Flop Nuts, But Board Gets Progressively Ugly Flop Nuts, But Board Gets Progressively Ugly

1-1-2,

tightish V1 ($500) opens UTG +2 to $15, fishy V2 ($150) flats from BTN

H ($500) is in BB ws KQ and decides to call. (Maybe 3bet is better? V1 is unknown and we are 250BB deep so thought call was fine.

Flop, 3 way, ($45) TAJ

H checks (w two tone board I might donk small here some percentage of the time). V1 bets $30, V2 calls, H calls. My thinking here was keep V2 in hand and probably check raise the turn after V2 is committed and V1 will be in tough spot. c/r flop is not bad, but on rainbow board ck/call is alright? I'm not sure what V1 range is, but probably has all the sets, 2 pairs, plus all broadways, pair + straight draws etc...

Turn, 3 way ($135) TAJT

Kinda bad card. H checks don't really see reason for betting now, though BD spade draw is now on board. V1 bets $60, V2 folds. H calls (ck/r seemed bad move now)

River, HU, ($255) TAJT9

H checks, V bets $125. Pot is now $380 $125 to call. (about 3 to 1) H? We beat almost nothing now... so hard to fold when we've underrepped our hand this much, but seem like we are not good here 25% of the time...

Any thoughts on this line? is not raising flop terrible?

This sounds like the thoughts of a nit. We're good here *way* more than 25% of the time, that's insanity. Hands we easily still beat: AK, AJ, AQ

Slam dunk x/r the flop. Sets aren't folding. TPTK isn't folding. 2-pair isn't folding. Get money in while you have the nuts.

AP, I still x/r the turn. You're still miles ahead of many of V's hands.

I can't believe you're even thinking about folding the river. Raising might even be in the question.

lol...ok I agree about the flop, on the turn I'm not so sure about shoveling over 200 BB more in when V has so many boats in range.

FWIW I did call the river (without tanking too long but rather begrudgingly). I don't think many villains are going super thin w AK or AQ here and would happily show down.

Spoiler:
H called, V showed JJ for jacks full of tens

Who said anything about 200 BB more? If he 3-bets your x/r then you have an easy fold.

I know plenty of V's who would go for thin value with a AQ/AK here. Certainly AJ, when you haven't shown *any* strength so far in the hand.

Still don't know why you chose not to raise flop. He's obviously not folding a flopped set.

Played fine actually, sigh-call river.

If you raise the flop you may as well turn your cards face up, especially on a rainbow board.
