2/3/5, 1100

Ad5d UTG

Raise 15, SB, BB call

Flop 8h2d3d, SB bets 30, BB folds, I call

Turn 2h, SB bets 75

Call or fold?

Also I think I maybe should have raised the flop in retrospect, what do y'all think?

Uhhh idk, he's one of the local gambling/drinking/etc. types. Spent much of the game talking about his bets on super bowl. However he wasn't as bad as that makes him sound. Decently solid, didn't make any terrible moves that I saw.

Tough decision to call or raise flop. If V bet smaller, like 1/3 pot or less, I'd probably raise. When he bets 2/3 pot, unless we have a really good read and think he's going to fold, I'd probably just call.

When he bets pot on turn, with the board pairing the bottom card, again, I could go either way.

We're not getting good pot odds to chase, and the implied odds here are iffy. We can't be sure any of our outs are good, if he was donking out with bottom 2 or a set.

But we're in position. So we can see what he does on the river, and possibly steal the pot if he checks.

Since the pot is small, and it will be an easy fold if we don't make our hand and he barrels again, and there's a strong likelihood he'll check to us, I probably just take a chance, flat call, and see what he does next.

If I was gonna raise it would only be on the flop, but i wouldnt here because he goes fairly big. Now that he is betting out big on turn again it sounds weak but i might just fold. We arent getting great odds,

AND

Im decently worried about a boat here because the rec players in my regular 2/3 game really often just start leading out for big when they flop a set and if that's the case we are drawing to 1 out. Lets say we hit the flush, im not thrilled about raising and getting it in on the river if he just leads out again. 88 and 33 are strong possibilities.

Raise flop. We have huge equity against all hands except sets. If Villain has a draw, we have him dominated. If Villain has a 1 pair hand, it will very hard for him to bluff catch us all the way down on a lot of runouts. Remember that we are quite deep here, so it's really nice to raise this nut combo draw IN POSITION versus the donkbetter.
