alot of tournaments in my neck of the woods and lots of juicy cash games are coming up. Does anybody have any good tips/tricks for playing players who are primarily tournamenters.

Obv there not used to such deep stacks and may over value hands like AK/AQ when over a hundred BB deep.
Also seems like they're not going for thin value to often so ranges seem more polarized IMO
Alot more 3-betting and with smaller sizing then im used to but when stacks are so deep its pretty easy just to call these lil 3bets (especialy in postion) and just play post.

I think tourney players are more inclined to push their draws with stacks between 70 and 150 BB. Fold equity is alot more important in tournaments and players carry that over.

Also one thing I've noticed is that they will never rack up short. If their stack gets around 15-50 BB, they look for any place to stick it in. They don't realize that the blinds are NOT going up. They don't realize they can just pick up their chips and go buy a steak. They will play chip-and-a-chair poker until they are felted. They simply will not have a losing session that is not a TOTAL loss.

I do the same (if I'm not topping off / at my stop loss). I figure I have a good EV edge playing short, but I generally hate short stacked play cuz I have to fold so much pre... I dunno, is this bad? Maybe I leak here...

During a series, I've seen tourney players cram 200+bb otf with tptk like it's the nuts. Flop a set, win money. Easy game!
