This is what he said:

straddle to 6 and then a re straddle to 12 and it was a Talkitive table and I was playing agro and I said, who's going to be the one, there's always one who raises here. Utg +3 raises to 30. I'm on the button and look down at two black aces

But there was this hyper agro Asian In the big blind, I though he could squeeze with any two and I can stack him. Just wanted to get trickey
He just calls, both straddles call $150 in the pot
Flop 585
It checked around and I checked the button. Turn was a Q
Checked to utg +3 who shoved for 175

Hero?

He thinks he played the hand fine

Your friend is the classic trick player. They believe the main skill in poker is manipulating the other players and whoever knows the rules better wins. Anything else just requires a big enough set of balls.

Their response to any criticism of their play is, "I won, didn't I?" Don't even waste your breath with them. When they tell you stories like this (and they will because it shows their brilliance), just nod and say "well played."

Hyper Aggro Asian obviously has 4x5x here.. and UTG+3 gonna have QQ. It's the only way this story is any good.

He should have raised pre. Tell your friend he sucks, or if he is just kind of your friend then do as Venice said and tell him well played.

Hyper aggro Asians don't always five bet from the blinds. Straddle = raise. Restraddle = 3! UTG+3 raises to $30 = four bet. I realize that some may not view these as raises or three bets or four bets, but when others are making the hyper moves, super aggro players often just come along for the ride.
One counter play many use against hyper aggro players is to open raise for an amount smaller than the aggro player's typical amount.
If aggro typically opens for $20, and I have a hand I want to play but not for $20, I might open for $15, and he will just call.
Aggro does not always 3!, 4!, or 5!
So expecting him to jam this up after a straddle, re straddle, raise and call --- not likely. Too many players have put money in the pot. He'd pretty much have to jam to take it down. Aggro doesnt always mean dumb.

So, long explanation but your friend played it bad. Flat calling $30 gave everyone a good price to see a flop. He needs to raise here to get HU with UTG+3, and enjoy the dead money in the pot. Make it $100. Some folks -- aggro included -- might come along anyway and UTG+3 might re raise. Which would be great.

As played, sure someone could have a 5. But Checking flop is terrible. Can't give a free card to anyone holding 67 or a pocket pair. If get raised, easy bet fold spot.
On turn, UTG+3 probably bets QQ on the flop, so he's more likely to have AQ. That doesn't discount one of the blinds or straddles from having a 5 though.
This hand was played pretty poorly.

What are the stakes and stack sizes? Regardless he misplayed both pre and the flop. Pre obviously raise, there is a ton of money in there already that you can create a perfect SPR for your hand assuming you aren't crazy crazy deep and you think the guy who made it 30 will call a three bet.

Flop bet when checked to you.

jezz so much of flame in this thread .. Forget about PF play for a moment. check on 558 flop button with AA is not of a bad play. Everyone checked to us and we have position and we are wa/wb situation. Card on later streets are not going to make our pair and under pair. Any broad way can give some one else tptk and can pay us off in a big way. This wont be the case if we are holding QQ or KK though and would mandate a flop bet. Yeah.. yeah.. this is a 3bet pot and pot is pretty big enough and i would bet on flop.. Whatever.. hero is happy because it seems like villain shoved with AQ or kq and hero snapped
