Can you fold a set 200bb deep? Can you fold a set 200bb deep?

Firstly, sorry i don't know how to hand convert, but this is pretty followable so should be ok!

I play in a weekly tournament league, about 4 tables, know all the players very well, which is important to know here.

So, its a 10k stack, 25/50 are the starting blinds.

I am a fairly tight player, and i get tangled in a 30k pot with an even tigher player, and the table maniac. Just wondering what everyone thinks of my line in this hand, and if its avoidable?

PREFLOP
I am dealt 44 utg, and min-raise to 100 just to stir some action really, there are two callers and then the only player at the table tigher than me makes it 300 - i have her range at JJ+ and AK, this doesn't bother me, i wanted to make a set when i raised, now i just want to make one more :P!
The table crazy head calls the 300, as do i, and the other two callers and we go off to a flop.

FLOP
Qc Jc 4d

Action, first to act i elect to check, knowing the rock will value aces or kings, or the psycho will just bet regardless and i can pounce.
The rock surprisingly checks, which isn't ideal for me i'm just praying she has ace king, which is still very feasible at this point.
Aggro guy however does as i suspect, and fires about 900 into the 1300 or so pot.
I am happy to play this fast in this spot as the two limpers are still in the hand also, and the board is co-ordinated. I bump it upto 2900.
The rock then smiles and laughs and even says "i'm loving this" and calls the 2900. At this point my heart sinks, my prayers turn from ace king to aces and just pray that she had a brain freeze and not bet out with aces, then not been good enough to fold it to my raise.
The horrible moment is in my stomach, i am probably beat.

Aggro guy then compounds my misery by just snap shoving his last 5500-6000, now i am really depressed. The usual thoughts in my head that i'm not good enough to fold a set and i'm just going to be suicidal when he rolls over qj and she has aces.
I ultimately decided that this was to good of a spot in a live game to ignore, some of the players in there play very un-predictably and the rock could easily have aces or kings.

I call, and to my pleasure she doesn't snap call! Instead she asks how much it is, counts it out, and calls with pocket queens for top set. i puked.
The crazy guy has queen jack for top two and i roll over the two black fours, i am the soul owner of a club, and have one out to improve my hand immediately.

TURN
Qc Jc 4d kc

SALVATION, OUTS! ONE TIIIIIME

RIVER

Qc Jc 4d kc....ks

No improvement and the rock takes the pot, later going on to take 3rd in the tournament.

I am a very tight player live and going out in the first couple of levels in a tourney, espesh this deep, is pretty alien to me, especially in that game because it has proven very easy to milk value in a lot of spots, so i don't feel the need to get in there and gamble like i would a cash game with them.

So, please thoughts about where this is avoidable?
I obviously accept how coolerish this flop is for our three hands, and i don't really see anyway i wouldn't of gone broke, i am assuming if i flat the flop bet that the rock raises anyway and i probably still don't fold. Maybe getting to the turn i could've played a bit slower on the third club, and then the river when the board pairs i probably would've had too much in there anyway.

Thoughts please

Since Rapini sent this thread here already and you've had interaction with him, you've gotten enough punishment.

I suggest posting these in the MTT forum. This forum is for cash games. Even there, I believe this would just be BBV. Set over set happens. If you aren't willing to commit your stack when you hit your set, you should fold 44 in early position. What are you playing for, quads?
