Best guess at how much a dealer makes? Best guess at how much a dealer makes?

Does anyone have an idea how much, say, a 200NL dealer makes? I would assume their pay is pretty low, but say they make $10 an hour pay. I was playing at the IP in Biloxi the other day and there was a dealer playing as well. She told me the dealers keep all their tips. I think he got tipped out maybe $1-4 each hand that was dealt. Assuming you get between 20-30 hands in per hour, this was not looking like too bad of a gig ($30-$70/hour)? Hell, I couldn't even imagine what someone dealing higher stakes is making.... Just wondering- I am tired of my job, live in a Casino town and figure if I am not playing, maybe I will learn more while watching (if I was dealing).

It definitely depends where/how big the room is. I can only speak from experience at Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ. It is a big room that gets 20-30 tables during the week 50 plus tables on weekends with a variety of games from 2/4 LHE to 50/100 NL and 300/600 HOSE. Low stakes players actually tip the dealer well, sometimes tipping 1 for stealing blinds or 2 for a 70 pot. High stakes players are professionals and many only tip 1-3 dollars max knowing full well dealer is making a fine living. I frequently see dealers cashout 200 in tip as well as their 4/hr so they make almost $30/hr. This is definitely on the high end as other casinos only have 1/2 and less tables so sometimes dealers won't do anything during downs.

Probably $20-$25 an hour between tips and their salary

At 1-2, the worst dealers are making more than the best players. Might be exceptions to prove that rule, but its a good rule.

A prop bet at 1/2 one night with a player on how many hands an hour were dealt, based off a 10 minute sliver led us to right around 26 hands. This was from a decent dealer and now one going into the think tank. Obviously bad dealers and long, drawn out thoughts about all-in calls will happen and slow the game down, as will fast folding to large pre-flop raising speeding the game up.

At worst, 16-18 hands an hour, at best 24-30. Similar to what others have said, 1/2 players typically always tip a 1 per pot, even if blinds are stolen. I've seen $10 tips on 800 pots in 1/2 though. My local casino pays $4.75 / hour to table dealers, so going off the slowest hands per hour plus a buck for every hand dealt, they make $20-30 / hour on average.

I wonder how much more attractive female dealers average than male dealers. I'll bet its at least $3-4 an hour, especially at a $1/$2 table where every guy tips the woman a couple of extra bucks.
