Fun, loose table.
Villain ($400) is a 30 year old mixed race guy with thick black glasses who has misread the board a few times in hands he hasn't been in. Loose passive both pre and post. He has tapped the glass a few times at a large donator, trying to seem like he's a poker expert.
Hero ($250) tight image. Played one hand with villain. Hero called button raise from SB with 2 medium clubs from the blind. Villain called with J5cc from MP. We both flopped a flush. Hero bet, V flatted. Turn brought 4th club and went check/check. Hero c/f river and V showed. Villain told hero he misplayed the hand by not taking advantage of the 4th club and betting big. Hero thankful villain didn't raise the flop ☺️
The hand.
Pre-flop
UTG straddle
EP limp
Villain limps in MP
Hero raises to $35 on the button with A♣️ K ♦️
Whale cold calls in SB
Straddle calls
EP limper folds
Villain tank calls.
(based on his prior play, I'm weighting villains range heavily towards PPs with suited broadway cards.......possibly a small % of suited connectors and Axs mixed in.)
Flop
($137)
Q♦️ T ♥️ 3 ♠️
Checks to hero who bets $35
SB + straddle fold
Villain calls
(Should have bet more on the flop. I was trying to deny equity to PPs and keep control of the hand)
Turn
($207)
6 ♣️
Villain checks
Hero bets $100
Villain raises all-in
Hero folds
(I thought I could fold out anything he had except two pairs and sets. After his shove, I only had $80 behind. I figured only a jack on the river was good and I wasn't getting odds to call).
I'm thinking I could have taken two different paths:
1. Bet more on the flop. Shove turn.
2. Give up on the hand after the c-bet failed
Thoughts?
