Old Chinese guy who I have live reads on limps HJ.
I make it $30 CO AhKh.
Only he calls.

He has a high aggression for his age group.
Capable of doing something random.

$70(196 eff) JdTdTc
He quickly leads for $50.
I’m thinking there’s a good chance I’m ahead and I got position so I make the call.

$171 Th
He quickly moves all in for $146.
I call.
He shows down pocket Sixes....

How would you play this hand?

Don't post results, it distorts the responses; if you can still edit, edit those out, otherwise a mod will be along and might edit them for you.

I think the problem here should be fairly obvious -- V can be making a move while ahead. Not really a ton to do about it, if you ship the flop V can call you with better. My general rule is if I have AK on the sort of board where they "put you on AK" then I just fold.

I would just fold the flop.

Having played with this player type a lot the way to beat these guys is to just have it. Not make marginal call downs or try to bluff them.

They make a lot of plays like these with marginal hands. And CR a lot with bad top pair hands.

When you are the pfr they always think you have AK

Guy leads for 75% pot sized bet on the flop, just fold.
Poker became so much easier for me when I resigned myself with the fact that I didn’t have to win every hand I play

I'm cool with our preflop raise and it sets up a trivial postflop commitment spot if we hit TP.

I fold to the donk. Having position ain't gonna mean much on the turn with <<< PSB left which it seems he's simply setting up to jam into us. We could also be drawing much slimmer than we think.

I don't get to the turn but I probably fold there too.

If he is a spazz maniac this is fine. I have played with people who I would make this call down against. Its up to you and your history with him to decide if his range is wide enough to justify this.

Shoving seems really bad here. We either decide his range has enough air we can call down, or we fold. Equity denial isnt that important here.

Much rather shove than call thats for sure. I would still fold flop tho
We have 2 overs +gutter +strong perceived range to leverage for FE. He might fold a hand like 66 to a shove otf. Calling is disastrous if we don't bink turn

As played, this is a fold, no reason to call the turn whatsoever.

On the flop, I'm raising. In live poker a donk bet is a huge sign of weakness. I auto-raise donk bets and usually get a fold. If they don't fold then I play the rest of the hand with caution (assuming I don't have anything worthwhile).

He did do something random. The problem is that his random was better than your AK. If you had QQ, would you have made a thread about this?
