1/3 nl
Eff stacks 260

Hero image lag
V image just sat down but he had lost a decent size pot by overplaying his hand

Hero utg ajos
V mp

Hero opens for 10
V calls
2 other callers

Flop (40)
25j dd

Hero leads for 30
V calls
Others fold

Turn (100)
8
Hero leads for 75
V calls
( I considered checking for pot control here but was pretty sure he either had a fd or kj,qj,j10 kind of hands. So I'm betting for value but also to protect against fd's.)

River (250)
6
Hero bets 150
V calls
(I'm betting for value here from kj, maybe qj sometimes calls. I discounted all sets as I'm sure he would have raised the turn. I'm slightly worried about j8 but I also think he raises the turn with that. I could always just fold pre in this spot but what are thoughts as played and what do you think V had?

Looks really good; I'm betting river if he resembles anything of a station. I might be leaking in soft games but in lineups where villains have a clue my sizing would probably be a bit smaller, like 30flop/ 65-70 turn/ 125 river

I'm folding AJo UTG at alot of tables. As played, bet more PF.

I'm assuming you're posting this because villain showed up with 34 for a straight, or J6 and you're wondering if you should have bet more somewhere in a vain attempt to push a 1/2 fish off of a top-pair hand.

This is why I'm folding this hand in alot of games. You have to put in too much money before you get a reasonable picture of where your hand stands.

Seems fine to me. Opening AJ off utg is -EV at most tables imo. Did you chop?

Tbh given my image I think opening aj os utg is fine here, I had a very large image and had been opening pre pretty wide from ep, so a lot of the time they're not expecting my to be as strong as aj, so I can value from a10, kj, qj if my if I hit my pair. I do agree in part though, with a more tag/abc image aj os could easily be folded pre here

I'll post results now as going out, the guy showed up with 86dd, sick. I really thought I played it pretty well at the time but helpful getting some reinforcement about that. Thanks everyone for feedback.

Look at the bright side, he called a 3/4psb otf with a middle flush draw then he called another 3/4 psb OTT with the FD and 2nd pair. I don't think the phrases 'calling station' or 'fish' do this guy justice. I'd be psb all hands against him that I have TPGK+ Knowing he is calling down light

I probably fold AJo from utg.

But given that you got to the flop, nice line. A lot of 200nl and 300nl players won't go for 3 streets of value with just 1 pair.

I think you played this fine. Oh well, he got lucky on you. I don't think much changes if you check the river and he bets because you'll probably just call off with TPTK thinking he's bluffing with a busted FD.

Yeah, i actually considered checking to induce a bluff from a busted fd. Either way my money was going in. Just a sucky hand
