Advice on Longer Sessions? Advice on Longer Sessions?

I need to start playing 8+ hour sessions on the weekends (preferably profitably )to hit my 'hours playing' goal for the year. My 'A' game only really seems to last about 5-6 hours or so and after that I can't seem to get into the groove and crank out a 12 hour session like I would want to. I start to pass on +EV but riskier spots that I'm willing to take at a beginning of a session. I nit up and don't spew, but definitely lose some of my mojo after I get worn down.

Does anyone have tips for grinding out longer sessions? How do you step back and refocus later in a session?

Any tips and all discussion is welcome!

Practice, practice, practice. Just slowly add more time to each session and get used to the differences. Take frequent breaks too. And finally.....12 hr sessions may be too much for some people no matter what without it affecting your play.

I have my lowest win rates in my longer sessions by a pretty decent sample.

I have longer sessions when I'm at a great tables or a huge spot sits down.

So I have lower w/r at awesome tables, in longer sessions. Just saying.

Have snacks (like bags of dried fruits/nuts). Take breaks/walks. I'd rec. at least one hour long break. Like 5 hours then dinner then 5 hours.

Something I need to work on as well.

Take several short mental breaks. Eat small meals. If you eat a big meal, it drains you. I usually bring a book (non poker related) and eat a powerbar. Also, what you are drinking will help. I drink green tea with honey and lemon. It helps me concentrate.

I've been trying to train my endurance too. I think it's taken me a few hundreds of hours of live play to get from where I can play decent for 3 hours to playing decent for 5. And a lot of long spewy sessions in the meantime.

If anyone knows a trick to improve endurance I'd like to hear it too!
