Just got to table. $1/2 NL @ hardrock (south FL).

Hero UTG ($300) - AcAd - Hero Raises $12
MP1 calls - younger black guy with $100 behind. Known gambler/degen/fish.
BU calls - middle aged woman (has me covered), has headphones on, seen her before grinding $1/2, perceived to be solid

Flop ($39) - 2s3s4s
I lead out for $25 and get called in both spots.

Turn ($114) - Qd
Hero leads out for $65
MP1 tanks and finally folds
BU raises to $135

Hero ?????

Should I really be checking the flop? As played should I be checking the turn?

You have to bet the flop for value.

On the turn, you may check if you think one of the V would value bet worse or try to take a stab with AsX type of hands.

If Vs are passive, bet turn for value.

AP: fold to raise. Call flop and min raise turn is insanely strong. Unless she is a tricky player and believes your range is capped at over pairs, she might raise As here as she might believe she block all your AsKs, AsQs hands.

But 1-2 middles aged woman player fits into the straightforward category more often than not.

Flop and turn seem fine as played.

Sometimes you just walk into it. I hate encounters like this on first orbit. She's repping the flush. If you call the turn raise you are essentially committing your stack. Unless I've seen her make a play like this before or i get a strong read - I'm going to reluctantly fold.

If you didn't bet the flop - this would be a bit harder fold.

If you call I'd expect to see a river bet. It sucks to do it but I'd fold.

Also not betting flop would be really nitty and bad. Your bet was fine. They often don't have a flush in that spot so you just got unlucky. Sometimes one or two villains will have a spade and will be thrilled if you check the flop.
