Back again at the 1/2 local grind. V is the same reg young Asian from my first post I folded QQ against when he 3bet me pre and raised my flop bet which I made when checked to.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...-fold-1820722/

H has ~500, V has ~450

V raises UTG+1 to 7, I have AhAd and 3bet to 22, only V calls.

Pot is 47. flop comes 8h 9c 10h

V checks and I bet 20. V raises to 70 and I call after thinking 10s holding the Ah.

Pot is 187, turn 8h 9c 10h Ac

V leads out for 150.

We ?

I assume there's only one option here but keen to hear more thoughts.

X back flop, pot control on a board that favors your opponent's 3B calling more than your 3B range.

As played, I'd call turn and evaluate river, very likely folding if unimproved.

Pre: What is our position? Prefer larger raise, at least 3.5X. UTG+1 raise should be strong so we won't expect him to fold very often. Nitpicking.

Flop: Hate this board. Not looking to get 3 streets and we check to pot control now. We can bet our 2pr+ and JJ; QQ once in a while. AP, just call but love / hate having Ah.

Turn: Awesome card. Only losing to flopped straight now. And we have outs. V could still have 2pr, sets, combo draws. V only has $208 behind. Pot is $487 after we call the turn bet. If the river bricks out, V will probably give up with draws and we will have lost the extra value. Easy raise all in IMO.

everything seems fine now jam. Stacks are too shallow to worry about flopped straights, and he loves his hand since he c/r'd then bet almost pot ott so he'll probably call with his whole range.

As expected I jam trying to get all the value and get snapped.

Dealer flips open the last A and I make quads. V looks visibly shaken claiming he flopped a straight (presumably QJ, maybe a 3.5x 3bet sizing folds him out but oh well). Never showed but not doubting him from the strong betting action and snap call.

We were 3% to win on the flop talk about getting the one time.

You're going to get check raised on this flop an absolutely huge amount of the time. If UTG 4bets AA, AK and KK but folds AQo, AJo and 66, what is left is most of his range being nuttish hands or decent draws, ie hands that are going to target your AA. If there's ever a clichéd range check spot this is it
