V in the hand is a whale who plays every hand and doesn't have a fold button. Hero has set an aggressive dynamic betting, betting and betting last 3-4 hands and taking pots down without showdown, so might look FOS. V has called my shoves with A high in the past.

History hand (2 hands ago): V mr in lp, 1 call, Hero 3b to $20, only V calls... flop 753r, V c/c $35, turn A c/c, river 7, V insta-check folds to Hero's $40 blocker bet...

6 handed, 1/2... eff stacks $200

V open minraises to $4 (the norm) in HJ, Hero 3bets to $20 with AA OTB, V calls

Flop ($40): J43
Check, Hero bets $30, V calls

Turn ($100): 5
Check, Hero shoves for $150, V snap-calls with Q8

V binks the OTR... I know I'm being RO, but is there any street I could play better?

Just minutes later, I pick up KK in SB vs him in CO, and 3bet his minraise to $25 after 1 caller (BTN) to go HU. This time, we're $300 eff. effective.

Flop ($56): T85
Hero bets $40, V calls

Turn ($136): 2
Hero checks, V bets $100, Hero calls

River ($336): 7
Hero checks, V checks back and mucks

Again, did I misplay this somehow and lost value from lower clubs which he'd probably call down anyway? Or was it better to bluff-catch his air that was just stabbing OTT?

I don't understand why the 5d is such a bad turn card for you. It completes a couple of gutshots, makes very few two-pair hands, and sets up a backdoor draw. So what?

Bigger question: why are you overshoving the turn with these stack sizes? You can comfortably bet $60-75 on the turn and then shove virtually every river.

If he calls an oversized bet with a flush draw, the overbet is good, though not something that should be a habit. nh

I don't think he thinks the 5 is a bad card, I think his read is V is calling so shoving is correct

AA hand is great
KK hand I may bet 3 streets because he's a whale and will call with worse (def not my standard line)

Yeah, it's something I'd rarely do.. just felt he was never folding

- 5d is not really a terrible card, but it's not something I'm thrilled about either, mainly because the river can bring 4 to a straight and kill my action.. and leave me confused OOP

- As johnny said, I felt like he was calling regardless with any pair+sd type hand.. so betting $65-70 against this player is leaving value on the table.. they're just clicking buttons

- Shoving virtually ever river? Not really comfortable shoving 4-to-straights.
