1/2

V1 (130) is tight passive. He bought in for a short stack. He folded his first 12 hands, then called a few limps. In three orbits, he raised once and folded to a V’s donk bet on the flop.

V2 (210) super wide calling station, has lost almost 4 buyins in three hours.
Hero is TAG and covers.

OTTH

Two limpers. V1 in LJ calls. Hero on the button raises to 20 with AdAh. V2 in BB calls. V1 calls.

Flop (61 after rake): 4h7d8c.

Checks to hero who bets 30. V2 calls. V1 calls.

Turn (147 after rake): 2s.

V2 checks. V1 all in for 80. Hero?

It's a call for me. Opponent could have A8, JJ-99, 55-44. He could also have hands that beat you like sets, 87, and 65, but I guess fast playing those monsters on this board doesn't make sense to me. Guess he could have AA-QQ as well.

I guess I am also unconvinced he is tight passive based off 30ish hands, could just be card dead. Short stack players can't always afford to wait for monster hands.

Call and call it off if V2 jams. This isn't a great situation but your hand is too good to give up for great odds. Really, you were committed on the flop with AA and SPR around 3 unless the turn card was really ugly.

Hero jammed. V2 called. River was a brick. V1 showed 44. Hero showed. V2 mucked his hand, and hero scooped the side pot.

What's the normal preflop open size? 10x seems a bit big in position vs one limp particularly with AA. You don't mind calls and it would be a shame to scare away someone's 99 or AT because of sizing.

Normal open size is 7-12, more on the higher end. I add two for each limper, often rounding it to 15. So many Vs were sticky at this table that I rounded up to 20.

Yes, you can’t assess him as a tight passive in 3 orbits. You can rule out loose passive.
