Maybe it's to not confuse LP with Late Position lol

you beat a 4 and his flop c/r turn check line seems consistent with someone who tried to take it down and shutdown when called. On the river, unless you think he thinks you have AK or AA and is trying to value bet you, you should call because you're ahead of his range. I think your AA is ahead here > 25% of the time.

If V is passive, then you should have folded flop since they are announcing they have an 8

I'm not sure why you all think it's so unbelievable that he would take this line with 8x

If he doesn't get out of line very often and checkraises this board then bets turn, there's a very high chance you're folding on the turn, if not then you likely will OTR.

If he makes a bluffy-looking line then checks turn and bets river, you're way more likely to pay it off because you don't have to put your stack at risk on a future street... and also you guys think he never checks 8x after x/r

The fact you're all saying snap-call is why somebody might play 8x like that

Vs. that kind of floaty, disbelieving, bluffy player (but not bluffy enough to bluff raise to represent trips) I think a better line is to bet flop, check turn. Not for ''pot control'' or any of that horse****, but to make our hand look like a whiffed AK, induce river bluffs, get an extra street out of PP's that we would expect to fold to a turn bet.

Thoughts?
If a player is truly disbelieving and generally sticky, he likely isn't going to fold to like a 1/2 psb ott.

The reason we can get value on those boards is because V's often expect us to be scared of the 8, so when we continue barelling they often think it's more likely we're bluffing.

If they are over-folding turn, I check turn bet river w/ overpairs, and double barrel my overs

If they are over-calling turn, I start trippling with overpairs, give up with overcards

would this player ever limp call kk preflop, it makes a little sense of how this hand was played. against someone you don't have any history with i'm probably calling this

I could see something like 6's for protection then turned into bluff.
