I think this is correct. You made all your profit pre-flop, getting two guys to make a mistake against you. The only hand that can profitably call 20% of your stack pre-flop is AA. It's time to get the money in the middle now and hope that he has AK, and who knows what the random donk has.

The only question is if you should shove the turn or check raise the turn. I would vote for a shove unless you are certain he'll fold to it without KK or if you think he bets near 100% of the time if checked to... and I don't think that is the case here.

okay, i just got back from the Edgewater in Vancouver. I ran into a very similar hand at 1/2. I thought posting here would be better than a new thread.

me bb with AA (~700BB)
villain on the button (~250bb)

My read of him is that hes probably a ringer. He joined our table about two hours prior, and hasnt played many hands. Hes got the scruffy faced, ipod wearing look of an older 2+2er. Hes not super aggressive, but if hes betting he probably has something. I think he respects me because hes been getting out of my way and we haven't been in a pot together yet. This is also his last hand, his chips are racked and he was almost gone before he saw his hand.

Action:

There are a couple limpers, villain makes it 12, i make it 30. everyone else folds and he calls.

Flop comes K J 6 Rainbow. (pot is about 80)

I go for 65, he calls.

Turn is a blank. (pot is 210)

(here Im thinking he has AK, or KK. a remote possiblty of QQ/JJ, my plan is to value bet turn and check call the river or bet turn and fold to a raise)

so i fire 100 (in hindsight this is too small a bet), he unracks his chips and pushes for another 180. I muck, thinking that i get shown a set 90% of the time.

Thoughts?

shoving is usually a good line OTT.

For above post, b/f turn is fine

I think the limp is fine given the monkey is still to act and it's live and etc etc.

As for raising after limping UTG, what kind of dynamic do have with pro friend? Has he seen you do this light before? Does he think you're capable of being light here? How wide is he going to peel?

Most of the time, it's going to basically tell him we have a monster... and that's not good. The fact that there's a flat between his iso and us makes me like l/raising much more, but still not convinced it's best.

Flops fine. I guess I check turn and pray he has AK. I think he can probably get away if you just keep barreling if he does have AK, but maybe not? Just wanna give ourself the best chance of getting the money in vs 2nd best rather than piling turn because this is a pretty pure wa/wb situation.

id go with check turn then bet river. we just l/r pf whih narrows us down alot. so if we keep leading its for value, this guy should know that. i mean really what is he going to call a shove ott with? KQ? really? hes hoping he hits or we have QQ here? Have u ever l/r with QQ that hes aware of?

real since u guys are friends i would do the opposite of what id normally do here if ur aware of that. so if he knows u as trappy then bet, if he knows u as betting type then check.
