Flop (280) Ks7c4d

H bets 160
Btn calls
Mp2 calls ai

Turn (660) Kd

H c
btn c

River (660) 9c

H bets 350
Btn call and shows KhQh

So I was only able to get 500 from v (plus 155 from the donk in mp2) with my set turned boat vs Vs top trips. This seems like the perfect storm I need to set mine but I still didn't get all the moneyz.

Vs range was semi wide. I had him as 99+ AJs+ QJs+. And after the flop call I had him as kq+ and jj+ With JJ and QQ folding to turn barrels.

My turn check was to get a river call from aa or qq maybe jj and to xr ak or kq. It surely wasn't to let him x back and/or catch up.

Im wondering if the 15x guideline for set mining needs to be adjusted for oop and ip. Because if im not always going to stack someone in this spot then I need to make way more $$ when I am able to stack to make up for this debacle.

Also, should I just have bet out the turn and river? I think that second K scares aa and although it helps qq they prob are gonna pot control the turn. But if they have ak or kq I think xr gets all the money in as it looks a bit bluffy or overvalued kj kt qq.

Should I have x/c all the way and ship the river?

x/c flop, lead turn and river?

Grrrrrrrr any line adjustments would be helpful.

I might have check/called the flop. As played, I would have bet the turn, but no more than half pot.

However, given how passive V played this hand, I'm not sure you could have made any more money from him. I can't believe he checked the turn.

I would just continue betting the turn if you are going to lead out on flop. I think checking the flop is superior to leading out due to the positions of the preflop raiser and the other caller and the board being a dry K high board, which is going to be cbet a lot.

Best line here depends on button. You probably did as well as you could, the board is so dry and MP2 calling the flop all in both make stacking somebody hard.

Once you lead flop you should go ahead and lead turn and river also. The turn will scare off some hands but you want a chance of stacking AK and your probably not stacking single pairs any more. The board is too dry for a check/raise, even AK is going to slow down because they are way ahead/way behind. The other viable line is check/call flop and turn, then lead river. Which is best depends on how aggressive and sticky villain is.

If I lead the flop, yeah, no reason to check the turn.

Amazing that Villain checked the turn.

But you STILL got 85 + 160 + 350 or 595 of his 700.

Nothing to complain about.

Agree with preference for checking the flop. But as played you cannot check this turn!!!

I like c/c flop, his 3b range is going to cbet a lot. OTT, I like leading out for ~$400, AK/KQ may raise you and gii, AA and probably QQ/JJ aren't folding yet since leading out on a pairing card often looks pretty FOS.

OTR, shipping $1k into $1.4k is best to extract from AK/KQ or get bluff catched/stationed by AA.

Definitely gotta continue your initiative and value line on turn...left $ on table. Bet turn and river hard.
