Was in a juicy underground 2/5 game last night. 4 o 5 loose action players were in the game and pots were huge. Several people stuck several K and a couple other up big. 2 of the loose players would call any raise preflop, chase any draw regardless of odds and never fold top pair regardless of action.

I had chipped up and had about $1700 in front of me. Early position player (Villian in hand with about $500) who was fairly tight and didn't really get out of line raised to $25. Lagtard called and then I called on the button with 22.

Flop comes AA9 with 2 diamonds and it was checked around. Definately thought villian would check AK or AQ to try and trap. Turn was a 2 (non diamond) and Villian bet out $50. Lagtard folded and I reraised to $175.

Villian cut out calling chips, thought a bit then reraised all in (for about $300 more).

What's my play? Thanks!

Unless villain is super nitty tight and always has a better boat here you have to call. The action could be any good AX trying to trap on flop because board is otherwise very dry. EP villain isn't going to have A9 or A2 and is unlikely to have 99. AA is just a cooler and probably doesn't move all in on turn anyway because he knows your unlikely to have a big hand when he has all of the aces. Big AX make up most of the range for even a fairly tight villain here.

Snap call. If he has AA, 99, A9 or A2. Welp, cooler. But I think you are almost always going to see Ax type hands here.

The only hand in a TAG's EP opening range that beats us here is 99. I'd much more expect to see AK/AQ here than A9s/A2s. His flop check is a bit concerning but he easily could have thought the maniac would take the lead. Against a range of AA, 99, AQ+, A9s we have 61.5% equity, easy call.

We'd have to have a really really really good read that villain doesn't do this with AK/AQ to fold.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking there was no way he has A9 or A2 and AA would probably just call so I thought the only hand I was losing to was 99. I thought AQ or AK were probably what he had.

I called and said do you have a boat and he said yes. River blanked and he turned over A9. Didn't think it was a fold but wanted to get some other input. Not sure what I would have done if we were deeper. Don't know if he got caught up in all the action at the table or what but was very surprised he raised preflop with that.
