2/5
Hero ($450) is an oldish guy who sat down recently and has been pretty tight
V ($800) huge whale from 1/3 playing pretty tight in this game, views Hero as nitty
Hero raises 99 UTG to $20, 1 MP caller, V calls in BB
Flop ($60): KK6r
V checks, Hero bets $35, Fold, V calls
Turn ($130): Tss
V checks, Hero ?
Do we check back in this spot or double barrel?
Preflop better to limp?

First, raising is fine.
Next, if he is truly a whale (regardless if he views you as tight), he isn't folding JJ-QQ. If he's the type of guy to float/call with two paint cards to try and hit a pair then I'd continue to bet for value as he has a gutter or a spade draw sometimes. I also doubt a whale is folding 66-88 all the time when you bet (as long as you keep your sizing small).
Regardless of your choice on the turn, I'd check/fold river.

Pre is fine.
Now you do have showdown value, so check back and try to get there cheaply. Since you are unsure, that indicates you don't have much of a read on his range. Getting to showdown gains you valuable information about what he has and how he played it.

Check back and bet 1/3 pot if he checks river.
