2/5 - A station on your left? 2/5 - A station on your left?

I'm wondering how people here tend to adjust when you're playing at an otherwise normal table, but with a station sitting directly on your left. The type of guy that will call like 60-70+% preflop then call all flop bets with a gutshot or any pair or BD FD or two overs, and only fold otr when they don't improve to something better than like second pair medium kicker.

The problem is that suddenly I never have position in a hand. Triple barreling small is effective, but then everybody else is getting much better odds on their draws, and the fish's persistent action invites large multiway pots. And barreling into multiway action is risky and expensive. I can't effectively float in good spots.

So what ends up happening often is that while the fish is handing out money to the rest of the table, I'm often shipping chips his way.

In sessions like these, I find that I end up playing tight/weak and somewhat passive as getting top pair good kicker or better is tough. And everybody at the table ends up getting a much better read on my play as I start feeling handcuffed to only bet for value.

If the whole table is full of stations, that's great - you can just valuebet them to death. But I have difficulty when there's only one big one and he's directly on my left, and the rest of the table is adjusting.

Any advice other than "seat change"?

Play a value heavy strategy pre flop.

You'll play a lot less hands, but you'll make more money per hand with the described table dynamics.

^^^^ this

And increase bet sizes for max value.

Also assuming he's playing his wide range relatively fit or fold on turns and rivers Im isoing him in the SB a fair amount and in general seeking to pot control my air/ build small pots a bit more than usual... pay attention to flop textures, delayed cbet some and in general seek to steal on later streets a bit more.

What do you consider value heavy? Like open 8% UTG? Less? Open 15% CO? I have a lot of difficulty not tending at least a little bit towards laggy play.

What are the strongest suited, unsuited, and PP hands you'd muck in an unopened pot from those two positions (UTG and CO)? 9-handed
