V UTG MAWG solid player who seldom bluffs, although I did catch him in small bluff earlier. He is very good at bet sizing in order to get people to do what he wants. He is one of the better players in the room

Hero Button MAWG I've not played many hands tonight and am probably perceived as tight.

This is Monday night football promotion night. Our table has no wild players. The pattern has been something like 2 or 3 limpers see the flop somebody bets and everybody folds. Or 2 or 3 limp there is a raise and then 1 person calls the raise. Few hands go to showdown and not many big pots.

People have been limping with suited/connected small cards but also some players have been limping with AK/AQ type hands

On to the hand, Effective stacks $350

V and 1 player limp and I call on the button with K9
What is you opinion should I have raised/folded?

Flop K75

It checks around to me I bet $20, V calls and the other players fold.

Turn is 10

Check, Check

River is 7

V bets $65

Hero?

I would either raise or fold pre. Limping seems like the worst decision, followed closely by raising. K9 is such a tough hand to play postflop as your Ks are typically dominated, 9 usually won't hold up as a single pair, and any straight you make is never nutted.

As played, I probably just check back the river. It's super thin to try to value bet as you're almost never getting called by anything you beat. Any K below T chops, any K above T has you outkicked. Any 7 beats you now. Any 5 folds. Hard to have a T call your flop bet. I just don't see any hand you get value from.

Really just a pretty routine hand, albeit one that you can likely just fold pre when people are limping AK. Post flop is probably bet bet or bet ck fold.

Looks like his $65 is > pot, so based on "He is very good at bet sizing in order to get people to do what he wants", looks like he wants a fold, or get you off a chop. I think a strong K or TT sizes less for value. Call.

Pre is fine imo if you are sure blinds are passive. Folding is fine also, while raising with 70bbs stax seems spewy.

Not sure what I was reading thinking that the river was checked to you. Either way, I'd fold river. Still same reasoning for not betting

I think at best if we call it's a chop, so not really worth it -- except for information, and it's a bit too expensive for that.

If people are limping and folding a lot why even limp questionable hands? Raise or fold IMO. They won't pay you off when you hit big and when you have a one pair type of hands you are likely beat when you get a call.

Thanks for the input

FWIW

The bet seemed kind of big to me, like trying to get me to fold and I called. He had a full house (pocket 55's). He knew how to make me suspicious.

some one help me understand what "MAWG" means?

in terms of the hand...

limping sucks, raising sucks, muck muck muck...

as played, fold river

I think its a raise pre most of the time (like 75%) and a fold the rest of the time, depending on villains tendencies. i.e. are they limping small suited connectors, small pocket pairs or AK/AQ; if so are they calling raises (can I get heads up?)

I don't mind a check on this SUPER dry flop to induce turn bets from 10s, medium pps and bluffs but vs 2 opponents cbet seems fine.

As played, I like the check back on the turn with the intention of calling villains river bluff/thin value bet.
