2/5 NL. ~500 effective stacks

Villain in the hand is trying to out play people and playing in any raised pot, limp calling a lot, mostly in decent position but sometimes not. I have been at the table 1 hour and ive dragged in a couple small pots, nothing of significance and not shown down a hand. One reg tried to come over the top of me on a flop where I flopped a set and continued but I took it on the turn after flatting and then betting the turn.

Hero is dealt QQ in the SB.

MP1 &MP2 limp, villain limps the button, Hero raises to $30, MP1 tags along as does the villain.

Flop (92).

954

Hero bets 55, MP1 folds, Villain smoooove calls

Turn (202)

3

Hero bets 125, Villain plays with chips, takes some time, then shoves rest of his stack in for about 300 on top.

(Takes a drink of his soda) PardoG says "Ah, sittin back, takin a drink, lookin comfortable!-table laughs, but then hero looks over at villain and he suddenly looks tense).

PardoG snaps him off. What would you do? regardless of read.

Thing is it is totally read based.

Obv he has a really wide range pre according to what you said but given you are unfamilair with each other he has to be a horrid spewtard or a genius (ie super quick to spot a 2+2 TAG who is going to b/f his entire range here) to be doing this with a hand you beat given how strong your range is and the player pools tendency not to fold.

So we think he is an aggro, ego, bully player but we have to think carefully about every hand we've seen and decide if he is good or bad. If he hasn't done anything you could definitely point to as spewy post flop I fold the turn.

Rest of hand obv played fine.

So there you go I'm taking a massively exploitable line and B/f my entire range unless you seems like an idiot. Thank the lord there are not too many geniuses pop into my game to destroy me.

Call. If it was Diet Coke, I'd fold.

Calling does not seem unreasonable due to your read, but what hands do you feel like we are beating here? I tend to agree with above posters that b/f the turn is not terrible either.

He probably would have raised sets/54 on the flop. So its really either 67 (A2?) or maybe a FD turned into a bluff. Perhaps he could have other random stuff too if he was trying to outplay everyone. Because of that read I would have called too. Otherwise I would start counting combinations based on if I thought he would peel gutters and how many possible FD's he could have. Ive seen TT-AA here in live games too...

By limping PF, V could have a very wide range including 6h7h, Ah2h, 44, 55...

He could float you but your second bullet on the turn is so strong, I think he has a decent hand. Something like 66 or 22 are also possible or any two hearts.

He knows you're committed, it would be hard to bluff you off. If he has 44 or 55, and thinks you have AA, he wouldnt want you to catch a straight to another Ace.

Ultimately, I would fold.

thanks all for responses-not much of a thread-was just more interested in ranges people would assign and how they matched up against mine....pretty much exactly my thought processes....anyway

river came a black K, and he didn't want to turn his hand over. he said "I have a 9" but didn't show. I finally tabled my QQ even though I think he was FOS and on a flush draw. took the pot.

Looks like Ah9h, 67s. Obv read less but going off how he likes to get involved in family pots, any suited connectors he's calling with

And by the way. When u called, were you super comfortable with the call or did you call with a certain percentage of merely not wanting to fold QQ as an overpair? Thus kind of uncertain really about what the results would be.

I think i already know but its been awhile since ive seen your posts so im kinda forgetting who you are. Sorry.

I am SNAP calling this shove. I think you are over thinking it. With effective stacks of only 100 BBs, we can't be barreling and folding on this board after putting in 40% of our stack. Other than some stupid straight, we crush villains range (all flush draws, top pair, turned straight draws, some air, etc).

Some of the time villain has a straight or over pair.
Rarely he has 2p.
Largely he has 9x, 6x, 88, air.

We win most of the time.

honestly this is really why I posted the thread in the first place on this hand....I called fairly quickly after going through various range options and I was very confident I was ahead....so I sort of wanted to see if I called to quickly or to light (kinda check myself a bit) and also wanted to see what people thought we might have to worry about hand range wise

People this is $2/5 all kinds of combo draws are available and especially if hero looks like a competent bet/fold player... pretty much a shrug call with $200 of our stack contributed in the pot.

If you aren't bet/calling this turn you need to be check/raising

bet/folding vs this player type is ****ing awful.

I kind of like Villain's play here. He was fairly confident that you had an overpair, and read you as a tight enough player to fold. And given that he could have hit a set or straight, I think alot of people would fold in this situation.

I also like your play. You read him as the tricky sort of player that would try a move like that and called the bet. You were smart enough to observe not only his image but yours as well and how it would impact his play. Pretty advanced poker IMO on both ends.
