Also keep in mind that Hero is OOP.

So I can't totally agree with your statement.
It's a completely standard 3bet size. 3x + 1x for the caller in between.

Thanks for the analysis. Like many people said it comes down to if we think the V is capable of 3betting light. In addition, I'm not sure he's always overbet shoving this turn with his value hands.

For these reasons I called. Villain had AKo and the river was clean and we scooped.

You basically opened my eyes.

I missed this point and this argument makes a perfect reason to actually call his bet.

Good one!

I know posting this after the result is a bit self-serving but something I've noticed facing this line is that there is little incentive for the villian to take this line with value on his first opportunity. The opportunity being downbetting on a wet board and overbetting on a non-improving turn vs a perceived capped range. If he has value here he's much more weighted to try to extract instead of balancing to a bluffing range which is non-existent to you at this moment.

Well done.

But don't be results oriented. You gave us no reason or reads to believe he would punt off his stack with his AK combos. But if you reread this thread. His bluff is likely +Ev as majority of us advocated a fold.

Results of hand don't make it a clear call or fold. In future, hopefully we can use his bet sizing in this hand for future hero calls and folds.

16 combos of AK and 15 combos of QQ+, plus a 12 combos of AQ. and this mathematically break even. but obviously he isn't punting AK every time. And he isn't over betting his QQ combos every time.

the logic is fade llsnl posters like fading the public sports betting.

OP covered it well enough. Its never value and villain is just picking on the nits who snap fold hands like this. didnt work this time but he probably prints doing this.
