OP, yes in hindsight calling is superior to raising. The reason being with is that when the CO shoves for over $300, you don't need to worry about "pricing anyone in" who is left to act when you call. Pretty much no one at this level except crazy gamblers are going to call a huge PF raise of $300 without As or Ks. And if UTG+1 or UTG+2 does flat call (their stack sizes and images are probably more relevent than the BB's) you know that you are ahead of them. And yes, by flat calling here when the BB shoves you can save yourself $650 because he always has aces given the action and the type of player he is.
In the heat of the moment I can see how raising all-in seemed like the right move. You have a monster hand that is ahead of the vast part of the two all-in player's ranges. I don't think you should ever be folding here however flat calling saves you money the one time out of 220 that the BB has aces (or UTG+1/2, depending on how deep they are)
