Table dynamics:
~8 players, we're all trash, hero is on 24 hours no sleep.
2 players of interest:

PF:
H 2kish, EP/MPish with A6dd.
V1 2kish, to hero's immediate left, bad lag super reg.
V2 1.3k, very bad almost whale, sitting a few seats to my right, currently in the blinds

BTN straddle to 10, v2 raises to $30, maybe another caller in between hero and v2, hero flats with plan of getting v2's money because v2 is terrible and we're IP, v1 flats, a few more flatters, and we have 6 way to flop and my hand usually sucks, lol. **** balls.

Flop(180ish)

7d 6h 4d

v1 checks!?, checks around, hero bets $100, v2 raises to $250, everyone folds, hero?

Alright, so here we are. We are getting raised by the bad lag, whose probably played a million hands of holdem as he travels to canada every week for work, and plays lots of poker stars and really loves the game.

His initial flatting range PF is going to be something like:

99-22,AJo-A2o,KQo-K9o,QJo-Q8o,JTo-J8o,T9o-T8o,98o,87o,76o,65o,54o,43o,AJs-A2s,KQs-K2s,QJs-Q2s,JTs-J6s,T9s-T6s,98s-96s,87s-86s,76s-75s,65s-64s,54s

Pretty wide and leaky huh? what's his flop raise continuation range look like?

99-33,A8o-A7o,A5o,Q8o,J8o,T9o-T8o,98o,87o,76o,65o,54o,43o,A8s-A7s,A5s,K8s-K7s,K5s,Q8s-Q7s,Q5s,J8s-J7s,T9s-T7s,98s-97s,87s-86s,76s-75s,65s-64s,54s,KdQd,KdJd,KdTd,Kd9d,Kd3d,Kd2d,QdJd,QdTd,Qd 9d,Qd3d,Qd2d,JdTd,Jd9d

Of course high equity hands like 2p and sets, and the typical semi-bluffs, and then very creative aggressive play, overs with backdoor & gs, combo draws, etc.. He'll raise all these with a mixed frequency, sometimes flatting, sometimes raising.

So a very wide range. So how do we both maximize our value and still defend.

What is the correct play? Folding is out of the question. Call or raise(sizing?), and what's our turn plan?

Think you should take a free card with 2nd pair and nut draw. Someone has set 2pr or straight really often. Not like you're going to fold out better ever or get calls by (much) worse

As played easy call

Alternatively if you don't wanna give a free card you can bet much smaller like 60

hmm, I didn't even consider the free card... I thought my hand could be best so I bet it for possible value with many outs + definite protection. I see a lot of bad regs get too aggro with NFD, so I like this passive line your suggesting. Check, and let more information come to us with a strong multiway hand. Also small bet sizing is interesting idea.

So I call, and now this is where it get's interesting.

Turn ( $700 )
Turn is 3h, one of the worst cards for us, as all his 5x hit. We check and v1 bets $250. H??

I'm confused about the Vs. I thought V2 was the whale?
I think you meant to say that V2 checked the flop as the SB, and V1 raised your flop bet with position on you and other players yet to act, then it folded around to you. Correct?

AP, we're never folding turn, even though our hand is pretty face-up, as we have 9 outs to the nuts and he's betting $250 in to $680. No reason to turn our hand in to a bluff here. Just call and hope to bink. Your call will only represent 21% of the pot and you have about an 18% chance of hitting. You only need to make up ~$34 via IOs, and even with your hand face-up, that should be easy in a >$1K pot.

Yes, garick, you're correct.

So you say, call, even with our hand face up, so what's your river plan if he shoves, which he'll do with his whole range and our hand is face up, could a pair of sixes be good here? BTW, at this point, while we're figuring things out, villain says out loud, "A diamond can still come on the river for you". So think's we're on a flush draw... We're a little stronger with a combo draw
