V opens in cutoff to 25. V is late 20s asian guy, 5/10 reg and playing some kind of game on his phone that requires a second of his attention every 30 seconds to click a button, even during the hand. Can't tell, but very likely he could be playing online poker while at the table.
Hero flats on the button with AQcc. Typically will 3bet in position but decide to flat, probably because earlier on in the session. Just sat down 20 minutes ago
BB comes along (older guy, no reads)
Flop: 446 rainbow, one club (~$75)
V cbets $55, Hero floats IP (profitable spot to float?), BB folds
I would prefer 3! pre, but don’t hate the way you played it at all.
WP. I would probably just jam my remaining $60 or whatever OTR.
Call turn is easily best instead of raise.
How many bluffs does he have here? It feels like readless we should assume not that many, so what are his value combos? AA-QQ, AQ, KQ, QJ, QT, some lucky JJ, and that's about it. Maybe 66. Against just his value range, we are 45% (38% win, 14% tie) (this seems high but that's what my calc says, maybe someone else can check it?). We only need to be good ~22% to call, so seems like a pretty easy call here. If he ever has any bluffs we do even better. Sorry he showed up with something better this time :/.
If you just sat down though and have no reads I would just fold flop. How do you know if floating he is a calling station or is tilted and will give credit when you bet. Beginning of session I think it's better to not make plays yet until you have solid reads.
AP calling seems acceptable but 3 barreling every street screams I have top pair beat or I maybe bluffing but if you just sat down I wouldn't want to try bluffing you for the same reason he don't know if your a station or can't fold top pair.
