BTN ($800) is a fishy young guy who I have maybe played with once before. Seems a little uncomfortable at the table. He has been aggressive pre but not many showdowns yet. I've seen him raise between $10-25, so his raise here could either be a cheap attempt to steal, or it could be a decent hand that wants a call. He did win a huge hand for like +$350 soon after he sat down, but it was from a very tilted fish who gifted it to him. (fish had Ace-high and BTN had overpair). BTN did not slowplay it, just bet bet bet.

Hero ($600) is a regular at this casino and at this 2/5 game which has been running for only a couple weeks. Should be perceived as a decent, tight winning player. V has seen me face two tough decisions from a competent LAG at the table, both for big pots. I won one and lost the other.

Preflop: Folds to BTN who makes it $10. I make it $35 with AKss from BB. He calls.

Flop: KK4 two diamonds (~$65)

Hero bets $35. He calls.

Turn: 5x (~$135)

Hero bets $75, he raises to $200. Hero?

We kind of have no idea where we are at here. This is an odd spot to bluff after a tight player has just shown aggression pre, flop and turn. It really depends how bad this guy is, and since he hasn't shown down anything but an overpair, it's hard to put him on K5 suited or K4 suited. So this is likely 44, 55, AK, KQ suited, KJ suited, maybe K10 suited, maybe AA, or a very strange bluff. I feel like if we can continue at all in this hand, we have to shove. Checking the river and letting him check back is just forfeiting too much value from the hands we beat. I'd shove, and sometimes get called by better, but against a fish I think we get called enough by the hands we beat. No matter what, we have some equity.

Shove.

It's also possible that V picked up additional equity on the turn (6d7d, Ad2d, Ad3d, ect.). If hero was in position, then flat calling might be best. But with hero OOP, we can't run the risk of the river going check/check.

I've seen this phrase a bunch recently - what does it mean?

I GII, worse K's will call, we may pay off 44 & 55 but we may let a diamond draw get off cheap if he misses the river. Plus for all we know he may now have a combo draw that is willing to gambooool for stacks if we move in now.

^ clicking it back means min-raising. It's a reference to online poker, where you can simply click the raise button to automatically min-raise.

So in this case, it would be a raise to 325.

Clicking it back sounds cool. No pun intended

If you flop trips w AK vs a fish and he shows up with a boat, I'm chalking it up to a cooler. Fish min raised on the button. Who knows what the hell that means? He could raise 44, 55, or Kx, maybe even AA that was afraid he'd get no action from a normal size bet on the button so its so hard to narrow him down. I don't think he is raising with a draw here though. Only thing I'm thinking is if we ship it now, maybe he can find a fold for his weakest Kx. However, just calling the turn and having him check behind on the river would be disastrous.

I hardly ever min raise but clicking it back sounds good and it leaves us a $200 bet on the river. I only say this because I have lots of time to think about it. In game, I'd most likely just shove turn but don't know if that's best. Since I don't think he's on a draw, I think even flatting turn and open shoving river might look weaker then just 4-bet shoving turn.

I do think the min raise on the turn is best choice though only because he shouldn't be folding any of his Kx for a min raise and we can lead for our last $200 on the river which will hopefully make him feel priced in.

Do you think you let him off too easy on the turn?

Absolutely. I was in a very similar spot yesterday 300bb deep and clicked it back. Although prob should have raised more.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I learned a lesson here

Grunch. I like your pf sizing b/c it will encourage fish to continue with worse kings and we like to play against fish with a monster, however I'm not a big fan of min raising ott. I prefer shipping. Most fish limp with small PP not min raise imo. The min raise is more indicative of a big card hand that is unsure. Go for fat value and ship it.
