2/5 Local Casino
Hero: 30's latino male. Been at the table for over 4 hours. Image should be super tight, perhaps even nitty, bought in for $300, I usually play 1/3 but tonight a 2/5 game was running and lots of action at table so decided to play this game pretty snug...was card dead so folded for almost 4 hours straight but now up to about $900 over the last few orbits, shown down AA, AK and 1010. Stack: $900

Villain 1: Older Latino male 50ish. Only guy at table possibly more tighter than me, a reg who is pretty straightforward ABC but solid, I really don't play many hands with him since I know he usually has the goods and a tight pre flop range, sat down about same time as me so playing together about 4 hours tonight. Stack: $800

Villian 2: Mid 20's white guy, been playing LAG, never seen before but heard him mention where he plays at regularly, pretty comfortable when in a hand, an OK Aggro player, bought in for $800, was down below $300 and now up to about $1200.

On to the hand:

Late in night-early morning actually so down to 7 handed, V-2 UTG straddles for $10, 2 fold, Hero opens to $20 from CO with AJs, Button calls, he's another LAG player about 1k stack, SB folds, V-1 In BB calls and V-2 calls from straddle. Prob too small a raise but I liked my hand and wanted to see a flop mutiway. My image is super nitty so any bigger raise gets folded around unless someone has a monster. $20 felt about right for suited Ax, SC's and Broadway cards to come along.

Pot: $80

Flop: QJJ rainbow

V-1 checks, V-2 bets $25, Hero decides to just flat, ovb I love this flop, thought about raising for value but felt flatting was better option, Button folds and then V-1 check raises to $55, V-2 folds and back to me, I know he has a J here, he would never really do this with anything less, QQ he would of 3b pre pretty big too and AQ/KQ, I think he just calls on flop. So I range him J10, QJ, KJ and AJ with outside chance of J9s and AQ/KQ. Hero decides to flat, I have position and I don't want him muck In case he has that TP or J9. I think TP would be an easy fold for him given my image if I 4b. J9 not so much but maybe, ovb anything else better he's coming along with.

Pot: $215

Turn: K (rainbow)

V-2 bets $80 fairly quickly.

Hero?

Open bigger. With a LAG on the straddle, and another OTB, make it at least $30. Playing OOP to a LAG in a multi-way pot will generally suck.

Raise flop the first time. We want to play for stacks, and not getting there this way. Plus we are giving straight draws redic odds. As played, raise the F out of the c/r for fat value. Very few players can fold flopped trips, and the only hand in his range you lose to is QJ, of which only 3 combos are available.

AP, that turn card bites the big one. Call for pot control and call most rivers, raising only if an ace of the case J hits.

If you're right about his range on the flop here's where we are:

Board: Qc Jd Jh
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 57.666% 42.28% 15.39% 11719 4266.00 { AJs }
Hand 1: 42.334% 26.94% 15.39% 7469 4266.00 { AJs, KJs, QJs, JTs, AJo, KJo, QJo, JTo }

If you 3-bet the flop and he folds the worst hand in his range (JT) then here is where we are:

Board: Qc Jd Jh
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 50.086% 32.12% 17.97% 6359 3558.00 { AJs }
Hand 1: 49.914% 31.94% 17.97% 6325 3558.00 { AJs, KJs, QJs, AJo, KJo, QJo }

Since that's not where you want to be I definitely agree with you that 3-betting the flop isn't best.

We received a horrible turn card. This is where we are:

Board: Qc Jd Jh Kd
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 39.248% 24.83% 14.42% 284 165.00 { AJs }
Hand 1: 60.752% 46.33% 14.42% 530 165.00 { AJs, KJs, QJs, JTs, AJo, KJo, QJo, JTo }

I think the decision comes down to how you think he plays the range you gave him. Is he continuing to bet the bottom of the range? Would you expect him to check the river with the bottom of his range? If he's no longer betting JT this is a pretty easy fold.

I'd hate to put in 80 dollars now and face a pot sized bet on the river.

Raise more pre, raise flop.

As played that K is one of the worst cards in the deck. Not folding, but like Garrick said pot control is crucial here.

I hate the turn but still called, river was blank and V bet out $100, I knew I was behind but still sigh called and was shown KJs of course, one of my leaks is acting too quickly when I have a strong hand when being bet in to, need to fix that but just wanted to see if anyone felt this was a fold on turn like I did even tho I didn't.
