Possibly folding the Nutz????......I know crazy right......well I actually had to contemplate this tonight playing $2/5 NL live cash game. So here's the hand:

Im UTG+2 and I limp with Q10 spades(my stack is around $750).....2 more limpers behind me, SB completes and BB checks.

Flop comes AKQ rainbow and it gets checked around to a Jack on the turn. This Jack brings 2 diamonds on board now. SB bets $15, BB calls and I raise to $55, both limpers behind me fold then the SB ships it(and he's got me covered).

BB folds and now it's back to me........So here's the freakin dilemma, I know I've got the NUTZ and so does he, but Im also sure now at this point that this reg has got the diamond flush draw to go with his 10. So now it's up to me to call off around $700 into a pot of only $105 (that I know Im just chopping) and of course the SB has got a diamond freeroll.

So like the title says, Is it ever correct to just fold the Nutz? And if not when does it become correct, if the pot were a penny and it was $10K to call?

I would love to hear some thoughts on this one.

I'm not good enough to fold the nuts ... I've seen people spazz.

It's a sick spot.

I can't fold.

Basically you are calling $695 to win 80 percent of $105 or a little more than $80. He is shoving for a 20 percent chance to win your stack ... like $150ish.

So is calling actually -$70ish long-term? IDK.

Will look forward to reading the responses after I wake up later today.

Of course it can be correct because if he turned his hand face up you should fold.

If you *know* the guy has diamonds, dump your hand. If you think he probably has diamonds, dump your hand. If you think he cant have diamonds because you do, skeet skeet.

You're opting out of your ~40% equity in a pot of $110, in lieu of giving a guy a 20% freeroll at your $700. Thats not really a sick spot.

The only way I would fold is if he showed me and I had that feeling.

Other that hell naw, never folding the nuts. It is unlikely he has a 10 so you will be folding when you're ahead which is lol in it itself.

It should be 700 to win 865.

Assuming he only does this with TXdd then we have 40% equity in the pot.

That's -74 ev for calling.

However he'd do this with TdXx to try and get you off a chop as well.

Against a range of T7dd-T9dd + JTdd-ATdd + AxTd-8xTd we have 47% equity and net 35 profit.

most live 2/5nl players are not shoving here to get you off a chop. Also there were three limpers pre flop, meaning SB has more Txdd combos than listed.

I think he has very few bluffs here in his range and he is either trying a)blow me off the chop or b)freeroll his diamond draw with his 10xDiamonds....either way my gut was telling me this would be the only spot in poker where it would be correct to fold the nutz.
