$200-$300 stacks, 3 limpers, Hero raises to $30 in SB, BB calls, 2 limpers call

Flop ($120): QQ3dd
Hero checks, BB checks, 2 limpers (fish) check

Turn ($120): 5x
Hero checks, BB bets $45, 2 limpers fold, Hero ???

V has a tendency to bet when weakness is perceived, but his pf calling range is too strong vs nitty Hero.

Apart from the 2 weak limp/callers whose calling ranges are ultra-wide pre, BB is a reg and given Hero's ultra-nitty image, is never calling light here. His range is 88-AA/AK at best imo, which will almost surely call a flop bet and may fold if Hero double-barrels, but it's too expensive to find that out, plus he is capable of trapping with premiums. Plus there are two others in the hand. Also, he knows AQ is most likely never in my range, and knows I'm nitty enough to fold non-Qx hands if he raises me, since he could think I might think he has AQs in his range.

The point of making this thread is the sickness of whiffing after investing so much in the pot and playing so weak. How should it be tackled?

What's your reasoning? What are you putting V on? He could easily thin v-betting any pp, which we are behind of. And there are not many non-paired hands that call preflop, if even any. Plus the $45 bet could be a Qx trying to sucker ppl in.

lol no

watch what people value bet. Seriously watch. You'll be surprised how little people actually bet for value, how strong the hands they check back are. Probably your biggest edge in live games is simply value betting better.

But, he could be betting a pp because "nobody bet, i have a pair, that's probably good, pls fold". Which is the same thing.

I would just fold here -- your thinking regarding his preflop calling range is bang on. How many combos of worse can he realistically have? And getting him off a pocket pair would be tough given you've checked twice.

Could make an argument for betting turn however but you missed that chance.

i think its a pretty standard spot for AK. btw, do we have a backdoor?

I would CB flop and expect a takedown most of the times, only Qx and FD and some PP will continue here. If somebody raise or even calls, im pretty much done with the hand.

ap, fold.

I'm with this. I'm cbetting this flop a ton and depending upon turn and villain firing the second barrel or giving up. I think if you're going to raise this in the SB you should be cbetting this flop a large portion of the time.

You didn't whiff the flop here; you likely have the best hand and/or people shouldn't be able to stand double barrel. Cbet flop, would barrel this turn again. Would also barrel diamonds if we have one. As played I would check fold or check call, check decide river.

In that case, what is your betsizing otf and ott?

Totally cool with not betting flop for myriad reasons including board texture, stack sizes, and # of opponents.

Totally cool with check folding all streets.

Of you challenge the turn bet you have to be prepared to bomb river. Are you?
