Hero HJ ($700) - LAG image. Has been barreling quite a bit and won a lot of pots without reaching showdown. The only time I reached showdown I had trips, so I haven't been caught bluffing yet, but people are getting suspicious of me.

Villain BTN ($320) - 50's white guy. Seems a bit tilted after recently losing a pot. Plays like a passive fish.

Hero is dealt A9o in HJ

UTG limps $3
UTG+1 limps $3
Hero raises to $20
Villain calls $20
Everyone else folds

Flop ($45) is 977r

Hero Cbets $30
Villain calls $30

Turn ($100) is 2
Board is 9772r

Hero barrels $85
Villain SNAP calls $85

River ($265) is J
Board is 9772Jr

Hero shoves $195

What is your opinion on this? Too thin? My logic was that once villain snaps the turn, he never has 7x, since those hands would wait a few seconds before calling. I also believe that I can rep some busted draws (eg. 86 and 65) and thus I can get called by all 1 pair hands.

I actually think this is well played given your image and this type of V can definitely call with worse. I'd expect to get called down by alot of 9's with worse kickers and a lot of medium pocket pairs 88, 66, 55.

I guess V flips over J9?

I like it overall. But I would choose smaller sizing though all the way. I'd bet 60 ott, and 90-100 otr. It can allow you get called by wider range and also leave you some room of bet/fold against passive fish.

I think HJ after 2 limps is way too early to be getting out-of-line with this hand (with 4 people still to react behind, and limpers easily limping better in a passive game). I'd fold preflop, especially if people are starting to get suspicious.

With an SPR of 7 on the flop, we can easily play for stacks with 3 bets. With our image against this suspicious and tilty opponent on this board, it's *possible* that's what we want to do at this point.

I don't put much stock on tells overall, but I agree with the thinking that a turn snap call is unlikely to be a 7x. J worries me slightly on the river as T8 got there, but I doubt T8 would snap call the turn.

I don't mind postflop given the conditions, although I think we run into TT+ a decent amount of the time.

I like this, getting paid by a lot of worse hands he would check behind. no random J's in his range to worry about JTs poss but can fold this. J9 and T8s only hands calling you lose to which if you check he is shoving anyway

I don't like the turn check. There are too many cards on the river we hate, and I think we're ahead of the vast majority of villain's continuing range. If he's really getting a bit tilted here, he's going to continue with almost any PP, and the only ones we're really concerned about are JJ, TT since QQ+ probably 3B! Our range is also pretty well disguised and often appears as a double barrel.

Thanks for your feedback everyone!

The hands which I worried about the most were T8 and J9. I didn't put him on an overpair (even though I guess TT-QQ is entirely possible here) and the snap call OTT just didn't seem consistent with trips or a boat.

Here are the results:
Spoiler:
Villain calls $195 and mucks
Claims he had a pocket pair
