Hero, from outta town. No known history with anyone at the table. Been playing TAG and had been plying for bout 2.5 hrs. 250$ behind

Villain: Mid 30s white male. Running bout as hot as one could, player got to showdown with full house 7 times plus hit Quads once and got paid off every time. Id seen him felt 3 players already and has bout $1300+ at a 1-2 game.

Villan limps UTG, MP limps, i raise to 11 from CO with 10c10s. I get one call out of the blinds and other 2 call as well.

Flop: 10h 8h 2c

checks to villain who donks out for 20, mp calls, i raise to 65 and take down pot. Thoughts? Do you ever Flat here just to keep some action alive? Super obvious my range is 2pair +?

(this is like my first hand posted on here, don't hate too much)

NH. I think you played it just fine. There are enough action-killing cards that can come that you need to get some money in the pot now.

This is fine. Once villain donks into you and gets called, this flop is too wet to just flat. You need to raise and hope one of these villains has a big hand or strong draw and wants to play for stacks. Your range here should be wider then just two pair+, though obviously weighted that way.

If villain is donking into you with weak hands a lot, don't respond by slow playing big hands more often. Instead raise with some moderate hands and throw in some bluffs.

I think it was played fine. A lot of draws out there. Maybe raise to $60 ($40 on top) instead of putting an odd numbered bet in. IME people call even numbers more.

The pot is ~45 pre-flop. Villain donks 20 (<1/2 psb) which makes ~65 and gets called making it ~85 and you raise 65 creating a pot of ~150 with top set. Your raise gives villain 45:150 or ~3:1.

Your raise is standard considering your hand, the board and the fact that if you just call with your monster you're playing multi-way with a suited and moderately connected board. Your raise tells these players you've a strong hand and it's unlikely that A10 or JJ+ is out there so there isn't many hands that will call except draws which you want to charge. If the draws folded then you earned a mathematical victory because they should've called with an OESD (J9 or 79) or FD (hearts) for the price you gave them.

There are boards and opponents to play slow against but not when it's multi-way on a connected and suited board.

Having seen him donk and fold you might want to consider opening up your range in these spots so that you can bluff him while also mixing up your play.

This is pretty standard. I think I make it about ~70 or so on the flop raise if I want to get picky. With the second caller, the board is much to drawy to allow you to flat here and let 2 V's to the turn card. Even IF the second to act folded here, I think I still raise this flop...

Sorry you didn't get paid off, but I think this was the correct way to play it.
