Saturday night at the local cardroom
8 handed

V1 has ~200
V2 has ~100
V1 and V2 came together and seem to be friends. V1 was mocking V2 earlier for limp/calling JJ pre and playing it passively post
Hero covers and is probably seen as tight. Only played 1 notable hand in the 30 min I've been there and doubled up with a boat

Couple limps including V1 in LJ, Hero raise AJ to 15 in the HJ, V2 calls in CO, folds to V1 who calls

Flop (~50): Q T A
V1 x, Hero bets 40
At the time I was thinking I could easily get value from worse pairs and draws. In retrospect I'm wondering if my hand is in the checking range multiway, and I should be betting stronger made hands and stronger draws instead. Thoughts?

V2 calls, V1 shoves for 185, Hero?
Pot is now ~315 and my call would be 145 extra. CO has ~40 behind

I would check that flop. I fold to the shove unless Ive seen these guys stacking off raising gutterballs

Check flop or bet small, maybe 15, fold to the rip AP.

I'm calling. Too much money in pot to fold TPGK when villain can shove hands like flush draws and we are also getting okish price vs at/qt.

Obviously hero is getting dumpstered by kj/tt but its a low SPR situation.

Not that worried if Hero bet a little bigger than optimal on flop - many players these stakes are going to have relatively inelastic calling ranges.

I think the worst made hand I turn up with and bet that flop with is ATs.

Appreciate the input all - definitely agree the large bet was a mistake

Thanks, this is helpful - still getting a feel for my thresholds

Spoiler:
Hero calls, at the time thinking I am likely beat but there are enough draws and worse pairs to give me the odds. V2 calls
V1 shows J9 for the straight flush draw
V2 shows TT for the flopped set

V1 rivers a flush and scoops

Haven't read spoiler.

When you bet 80% pot, get a call, and then a jam into two players.....both willing to put in 80% pot.....the worst hand you're going to be up against is a combo draw. I'd be much more inclined to call if you bet 1/3 pot, get a call, then a shove. With there being a larger possibility v1 is just trying to take what they see as free money.

You're just not going to run into a worse A, or someone just spazzing on this board. Even most bad players know an AQThh board isn't one you're going to spaz into and take down a lot. Especially after a very large bet and a call.

This is a pure fold except against the most spewiest of spew players. And they both need to fit that description.
