1/2, small end of the boat, call river bet? 1/2, small end of the boat, call river bet?

Readless, villain is new.

Preflop, I limp behind a limper for $5 with J10, SB folds, BB calls a straddle, straddler checks. Flop comes KKJ, checks around. Turn is J. Straddle bets $10, limper calls, I call. River is 4. Straddler bets $25. Call or fold?

What has the limper done? I probably fold regardless.

He folded. Does villain valuebet J-X here? If so we could be chopping.

I don't think we chop often enough, there are obviously twice as many kx combos as jx combos and he bet the turn and got two callers (on a double paired board!). I think these two factors lead to a fold.

In fact fold turn is probably better without reads on villains.

Grunch.

Yuck. These bottom end FH's on double paired boards never seem to end well. There's one J left in the deck to get value from if we have a better kicker but 2 K's that kill us. I suppose readless we can make an excuse to call but by **** it's thin imo.

If we're in LP after only one limper and tightish blinds, I'd probably rather raise preflop and hope we can take it down right away or get it HU with some dead money in the pot, then c-bet, take it down and buy a hotdog.

As played, if this checks to us in LP I'm probably betting a large percentage of the time here with ATC, let alone a hand that actually contains one of the paired board cards.

As played, small pot + bet and a call on the turn makes the turn an insta fold for me.
