Nine handed. Three hours into session. Very loose, aggressive table.
Hero ($400, BTN): Hero has been playing extremely tight due to the fact that there are three huge fish (80-90% VPIP each, call all ins with gut shots, bluff almost every single time you give them the opportunity to, etc). Hero has mainly been showing down premium hands.
Villain ($250, SB): Hero and villain play together at least a few hours a week, but usually more. Villain isn't too much of a thinking player, but admittedly does think more than the average 1/2 player. Villain definitely knows that hero is usually a lot looser than he is playing today. Villain is the only player at the table tighter than hero. Villain's VPIP is ~10%. The weird thing about having ~10% VPIP is that he bluffs about as much, maybe a little more than the average 1/2 player. If villain ever 3 bets, he has QQ-AA, or AK; however, villain only 3 bets these hands an estimated 75% of the time he picks them up.
OTTH
For the first time today, the action is folded around to hero on the BTN. Hero looks down at K
Q
and raises to $10. Villain calls and BB folds.
Flop($22): K
8
9
Villain checks, hero bets $11 and villain calls.
Turn ($44): 7
Villain checks and hero checks back
River ($44): 2
Villain leads out for $15 and hero just calls.
What do you think of the line hero took? Is there anything you would have done differently? I'm guessing almost everyone takes around the same exact line pre flop and on the flop, but is anyone firing turn and/or raising the river?
