Table is playing passive with lots of limps and multi-way pots. Hero is seen as aggressive player that raises and cbets a lot. Villian is a semi-good player that usually buys in for the minimum $50 but recently doubled up. He takes creative lines and will generally bet what he feels will get paid off while making small bluffs as well.

UTG limps
Villian MP limps ($100)
HJ limps
CO limps
SB limps
Hero BB raises $16 TcTs ($300)
folds to villian who calls $16
all others fold

Flop Qd5c6c ($38)
Hero bets $18
Villian calls

Turn Kh ($74)
Hero bets $42

Good spot to double barrel?

Are we trying to turn our hand into a bluff here to get villain to fold a Q? Any idea on villains limp calling range? If u feel villain has a lot of draws in his range here as opposed to Qx hands then betting turn for value is fine imo.

I think the pre-flop is way too low given the number of limpers. I'd go $20-24. If villain calls this, given his stack size, any flop bet commits us. Since villain's capable of a bluff/semi-bluff, and likely folds anything we beat to a flop bet, I'd check and shove any bet, or, if checked behind bet out any non-A/K/club turn. If a bad card turns, I hope to check down, more than likely calling a bet on a club turn, but folding to an A or K.

As played (and FWIW, I think the flop bet was too small as well), I probably just give this one up on the turn and hope to check down. I don't think villain's deep enough here to run an effective bluff.

My thinking in this hand is there are quite a few straight and flush draws and I don´t want to have to check-call the turn and then check fold the river on a blank. I think he will cold call or fold these draws(but bet if checked to) when having to put in 1/2 of his stack and not bluff the river when checked to if he misses. I´m almost always bluffing the A or the K when it turns as it hits my range a lot harder than his. So in a sense it is a bluff/protection bet as I expect to get called by draws and better made hands only.

Am pretty sure the purpose of bluffing is to get better hands to fold... I like the cbet to be a bit bigger as srou25 has said (24~30), but I think we are barreling the turn for value - charging draws etc. Ideally you would have some reads on villains limping and limp-calling range pre, and have some idea on how aggressive villain is with draws. As smallfish69 has said - is villains range weighted more towrds Qx or draws?

If villain never shoves his draws on the turn or river when whiffed, then I see merit in betting out the turn, you know for sure that if villain bets at any point further in the hand you are dead. That being said, your bet on the turn will leave villain with only $34 behind in a pot that is $158 large. Feels kind of committing... Still, always better to put villain in a ****ty spot then have it put on you
