This hand happened a few weeks ago, before the forums became unavailable.

Very loose/eratic game, lots of questionable calls and raises, and only 1 or 2 players at the table appeared to be putting serious thought into what they were doing and how the table was behaving. I had the 2nd biggest stack with around $300. Most of the stacks were between $80 and $150.

I limped with Q 10 into a 7 way pot from middle position.

Flop came 5 9 J. Big blind bet $13 into a $14 pot, and I called, along with 2 other callers.

Turn came 8 and it was checked to me. I bet $35, which was a little less than 1/2 the pot. Two players called me. One of the callers was UTG, was the chip leader, and he seemed to be actually playing poker, unlike most of the other players. The other caller was the button and I had no fear of him whatsoever based on his previous play. His range could have been anything under the sun.

The river was an 8. The UTG player checked to me...

I'd like to get some feedback particularly on my bet sizing on the turn as well as whether I should check the river or bet it, and if so, how much. I've continued the hand in the spoiler. Thanks.

what is this obsession since the site reopened with underbetting the turn? bet closer to pot if not full pot. we have the nuts. we want to get money in there.

what are the stack sizes of the remaining players? doesn't sound like you can really bet $100 and fold to a raise.

"chip leader" is not a cash game concept.

You've turned the nuts so you need to build the pot enough on the turn that villains with $150 stacks can reasonably call your river push. We really need stack sizes here, but I'll assume some $150 stack villains are in here, so we'll play to get their stacks.

On the turn the pot is $66, and villains have $135 left in their stack.

Option 1 - Bet $35
HU, pot becomes $136, so you'll be shoving $100 on the river into $136.
2 callers, pot becomes $171, so you'll shove $100 into $171

Option 2 - Bet $40
HU pot becomes $146, so you'll be shoving $95 into $146 on the river.
2 callers, pot becomes $186, so you'll shove $95 into $186.

Option 3 - Bet $45
HU pot becomes $156, shove $90 river
2 callers, pot becomes $201, shove $90 river

Option 4 - Bet $50
HU pot becomes $166, shove $85 river
2 callers, pot becomes $211, shove $85 river.

Personally, I like Option 3.

4 of us saw the turn.

Villain #1 (original bettor) was on the BB and had around $100 left.
Villain #2 (UTG) had around $300 left.
Hero had around $280 left.
Villain #3 (button) had around $100 left.

This is where I bet $35 with the nuts and villain #1 folded.

Evidently I should have bet bigger on the turn. What about on the river, when the board pairs up?

In an LP game like this, I'm fine with the overlimp and the flat OTF. If you're pretty sure you get more callers, your disguised SD can get good expressed odds to go with the implieds.

Turn bet is too small, imo. Get more value against 4 players, most of whom are bad! You has teh nuts!

AP, bet river for value, and fold to UTG's check raise if forthcoming.
