my image is of a competent, sometimes aggressive player. villain is ok but too loose. we bluff each other now and then.

1/2 NL - 7 handed

MP (300)
CO (400)
Hero BTN (400)

Hero is dealt KK.

folds, MP raises to 5, CO calls 5, Hero raises to 20, folds, CO calls 20.

villain play a lot of pots, and wasn't too confident about calling this, i put him on a weak hand.

Flop (45) Q34

CO checks, Hero bets 35, CO calls 35.

if he has a draw hes probably calling. sometimes he doesn't believe me at all .

Turn (115) Q345

CO checks, Hero ??

What is my line here? i got to value bet and protect my hand but should i pot control some how? what happens if he shoves?

Raise more PF.

I think B/F something like 85 isnt bad.

Also the only way to pot control this hand is check which gives him a free look at a diamond which he could easily bluff you off and makes us miss valve on Qx hands that give us money.

I would bet 75 here and fold to a shove.

Is there a reason for that (perhaps something to do with SPR, a concept I'm not really wrapping my head around quite yet)? 3 x raise + caller money seems standard, plus it accomplished the task of creating dead money and getting it HU in position.

I guess it depends on the game, in most games I play Im getting a lot of callers here. turns out he only got 1 but Id make it 25-30. Its not a crucial part of the hand though.

I agree with raise more PF bc you both are 200BBs deep. I make it 26-30.

I hate b/fing on this type of board against someone I have history with, but I agree you have to. If you bet and he ships you ahve to be right approx 1 out of 3 times to make a call breakeven and all the hands that he is semi-bluffing AI w/ still have to whiff on the rvr, and the hands that he is semi-bluffing with (Ax with a diamond and some great combo draws) still have a ton of equity against KK.

Bet 90/fold to a raise.

Unless villain has shown he is able c/r here with a single diamond.

Even if villain can c/r with a single diamond that is only part of his range and that part of his range still has a good amount of equity against us (diamond with a pair, diamond with a straight draw or A of diamonds). And if he is c/r semi-bluffing, he is probably only a 2.5-3 to 1 dog. I just hate the spot and I think it's a fold.

Last, in these types of games, even though you have history with villain, FWIW, I find that a lot of players just one c/r semi bluff, especially the turn.

If he C/R here then you just have to tip your hat to him for making a good move. You cant win every pot and cant call a C/R on this turn when you could easily be drawing dead.
