Also lost with suited connectors rivering flush vs nut flush.
V1 (HJ, ~600) - 28 y.o. wm, easily the most active player at table. Opens many pots for $5-7, occasionally $10. Plays very well post-flop. Earlier won seven straight hands before the hand described above, where he bet $35 on turn, I called with top two, shortie shoved for an additional $12, and V folded! (later said he had 7-2 & figured no need to throw away the $12.
V2 (MP, 69) - 20s, Asian male. Been at the table maybe 2-3 orbits, no significant pots, bought in for $100. No reads.
Two limpers including V2, then V1 raises to 7. CO folds, action on Hero with K8dd. I've been looking for opportunities to play hands with hidden potential against V1, so I call the 7. Three others call, including V2. Five players to flop.
Flop (~38): QdJdTc
Action checks to V1, who leads for 12 (somewhat consistent with his active, small-ball approach that's been working for him). Hero?
After considering either a call or a raise (was considering making it 40, so this seems about the right bet-size), I decide to call. Although V1 has folded to raises, he's continued to barrel when only called, and I've been waiting for a situation like this to play against him. After I call, two more players call, and then V2 goes all-in for 50 on top. V1 folds, and action is back on Hero. Pot is ~138, two players behind, 50 to call.
Hero?
