Posting this hand for a friend:

Hero: Early 20s white kid, first orbit at table

MAWG raises to $10 in MP over 1 limper, BTN calls, HERO 3b JJ to $42 from BB, only MP calls.

HU to KK5 flop ($90). HERO checks, MP shoves for $190 (we cover). Thoughts on whole hand?

I would have cbet this flop.

As played, we need reads on V in order to figure out what to do. Would he shove 88 here? NFD? AK?

Without reads I think I'd fold now. V did raise initially so he could have QQ or AK. We beat some FDs, but most of them will have at least one over so it'll be a 45/55 situation for us. Not looking to call off a 2x PSB here.

Also, my preference is to not 3bet JJ pre when readless or oop.

Obv, very hard with abs. no reads. My inclination (not sure it's a good one) is to try to avoid huge hands like this for a few orbits until i get some kind of base read. But, clearly that's not always possible.

As played, I'd really be suspicious of this bet. It doesn't really feel that that's how a Kx would play it. I suppose there are players that would be scared of the FD and feel the need to protect their K. But a more likely line for AK would be a check or small bet. But if they don't have AK or KQ... then what? I guess it could be 88+ or high clubs, and hero is strong against that range.

Having said that - it's first orbit and you have no reads... AP, I'd fold. I'd also have smooth called preflop, and probably check called the flop (assuming a 'normal' bet).
