H: 200$, LP, up and down all night, playing snug but can't really get much going. Table isn't really paying attention though. Basic dynamic is tight/passive pre with some loose cbets but no loose double barreling, if anyone barrels they have a hand...that is.. except for V.
V: 230$, EP, Just sat down a few orbits ago and took down a pot pre where he 3bet (table hasn't seen hardly any 3bets) K9s OOP and two players folded. Says he gave up on 2/5 at the nearby casino as he heard the badbeat jackpot was up to 100k here. Big gambler, loves to throw money around, but isn't totally incompetent, although he ordered a Budweiser (gross, I know) and I can tell it's loosening him up even more at this tight snorefest of a table. Super cocky. Looks middle eastern, late 20's.
V opens to 5$ UTG and everyone snap folds in fear to H who calls with 44, blinds fold, HU.
Flop (10$): A33
V says 'lets gamble with the nit' and bets 25$, Hero?
Also want to post a spoiler for H's flop action (doesn't spoil V's hand but please respond to flop action before reading spoiler):
Spoiler:
Hero calls? thinking V is FOS and won't double barrel that often against someone he sees as nitty,
So you gonna call 3 barrels with 44? I'd just fold flop, plenty of spot with this guy... As played he could actually have be soul owning you with 99-KK OTT so unless you want to turn your hand into a bluff vs an aggro gambler I'm not sure what you can do.
Same-bet sizing is so weak but does he ever fold an underpair to an A?
Haven't seen him make any laydowns yet. Basically folded pre or won every pot he's entered simply by making ridiculous bet sizings for the table which is mostly scared of him. Took down blinds once for 30$ pre OTB, cbets at least PSB every time, but also mixes in these tiny bets - made it 2$ OTF one hand with 3 callers to his 10$ open, called in one place, turn was dry as Arizona, he bets 2x pot, takes it down..etc.
Edit: sorry he must've had more than 230$ maybe 260$ish. Covers anyway.
call him down. giving u decent price on turn. can't imagine his range would be too strong with 2.5X open. Can't imagine too many value hands in his range when he bombs flop as well. pretty polarizing. Tonnes of air here. you have so many aces in you range when you call two barrels. unless ofc he's being some sort of wizard and range merging here, which he's probs not doing on 1/2.
Lol it does. But I'd act like I liked him bc he's good for the game.
Or, you could say to him:
"Now that we now fully understand your position on the 2nd Amendment, we can put that discussion to bed. I would, however, like to hear your position on the 10th Amendment."
Then watch the blank stare...............
Of course, you would need to be well versed on the amendments.
However, the fact that he won't know shyt about what the 10th is, should shut him the fruck up.
3! pre might be okay if this guy will lay down whatever dumb hands he opens to $5 with. If he doesn't fold to 3-bets I like 3-betting maniacs with a wide value range of basically whatever I'd iso a limper with from that position.
This is a RIO hand on the flop if he'll barrel his whole range. Against a 30% UTG opening range you only have 45% equity on the flop so you don't have equity to call down for stacks. If he plays Ax or 3x differently and wouldn't bomb it like this then I guess you can peel or raise. Raise if you think he'll keep firing his whole range on the turn and float if he'll give information away on the turn.
When he bets the turn small I'd say you got the information you wanted when you peeled the flop. He's probably still FOS or maybe he binked a 9? I'd raise now to $65. No sense in letting him see another card just to try to get another $25 out of him (and sometimes lose anyway)
