Just wanted some quick feedback but I know this has been brought up before. Getting back into poker and have been playing a little live. I used to play online only seriously back in 2002-2007.

Online I guess you typically raise 2x in early position and work up to 2.5x to the button. Think this is standard / solver approved nowadays?

Raise sizing live is definitely more dynamic in the low limit games. In the Bay Area it's a $6 drop and a $1 jackpot for $7 total. I'm planning to move to 2/3/5 soon but I just wanted to get used to actually playing live for a bit. I think most people are generally opening $15-$20 and more rarely you'll sometimes you'll see $10. How many of you just go with the standard table open, especially if you believe it causes people to play sub-optimally? Or do you do your own thing? With this blind structure and the horrible drop are you leaning more towards a $15 open and just tightening up a bit with your range? Curious what people think.

Yes. It's not very fun, but under these conditions, I would conform to the larger opens and tighten up my range as much as I could stomach. Raising smaller is pointless because you just feed the drop.

I think with these raise sizes the solver tells you to pretty much be an OMC. You can be a little more liberal because your opponents are so bad.

You want to take down hands pre a lot, so you should 3! bigger too.

Yes solvers for online like smaller early and larger later so you'll find a lot of solutions go 2x LJ/HJ, 2.3 CO, and 2.5x on the button.

For live I think there are a couple of differences for adjusting due to the higher rake, wider calling ranges, and less 3 betting.

I have been doing 3x at 2/3/5/10 and it seems fine. Most people are doing 3.5-4x and sometimes 5x or 6x. Though the people using the larger sizes I've noticed happen to be the worse players in the game.

Personally I'd probably do 10-12 at 1/2/3. I think 15-20 seems bit large to me but probably doable if you tighten your range appropriately. So most sizes are probably fine as long as you know how to adjust for the size.

Another consideration maybe how well you feel you navigate the 3-5 way SRP. You will have more of them at the smaller sizes as opposed to larger so maybe something to think about idk.

Tighten up a lot, especially from early position and middle position. Like take what solvers say to open from UTG and use that for about the first five positions. Then I make all my opens from $10 to $20 depending on stack sizes depending on how people play. If they are sticky with bad ranges, size up. If they are tight and playing like OMCs size down. Keep your ranges tight in that structure though. Dont be afraid to limp in from position. First couple posts had a lot of good advice. Be ready to play fewer pots than at a normal game. This rake is terrible for a loose style trying to win a bunch of small pots.

$7 drop is atrocious and I would move up now if you can put together a couple of buy-ins for a bankroll.

I think $15 would be the way to go in this game. Also, make sure you are doing a 3bet or fold strategy from anywhere except BB. And maybe from the BB too.
