Raise sizing live is definitely more dynamic in the low limit games. In the Bay Area it's a $6 drop and a $1 jackpot for $7 total. I'm planning to move to 2/3/5 soon but I just wanted to get used to actually playing live for a bit. I think most people are generally opening $15-$20 and more rarely you'll sometimes you'll see $10. How many of you just go with the standard table open, especially if you believe it causes people to play sub-optimally? Or do you do your own thing? With this blind structure and the horrible drop are you leaning more towards a $15 open and just tightening up a bit with your range? Curious what people think.
Yes solvers for online like smaller early and larger later so you'll find a lot of solutions go 2x LJ/HJ, 2.3 CO, and 2.5x on the button.
For live I think there are a couple of differences for adjusting due to the higher rake, wider calling ranges, and less 3 betting.
I have been doing 3x at 2/3/5/10 and it seems fine. Most people are doing 3.5-4x and sometimes 5x or 6x. Though the people using the larger sizes I've noticed happen to be the worse players in the game.
Personally I'd probably do 10-12 at 1/2/3. I think 15-20 seems bit large to me but probably doable if you tighten your range appropriately. So most sizes are probably fine as long as you know how to adjust for the size.
Another consideration maybe how well you feel you navigate the 3-5 way SRP. You will have more of them at the smaller sizes as opposed to larger so maybe something to think about idk.
